- The study compared conventional split applications of fertilizers and single applications of polymer-coated urea (PCU) to see how they affected NO leaching and indirect emissions.
- Over three growing seasons, PCU-1 showed lower total NO emissions compared to conventional methods, but it could also lead to higher nitrogen loss after the harvest and into the next year, indicating the need for better models to estimate these emissions.
