The Value of Four-Quadrant Cervical Biopsy in Women with Different Colposcopic Impressions.

The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic efficacy of colposcopic-directed biopsy and four-quadrant biopsy in detecting high-grade cervical intra-epithelial neoplasia (CIN). Women attending three women's clinics for routine cervical screening were recruited. Colposcopy was arranged for women with any cytologic abnormalities greater than atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASCUS), two consecutive ASCUS results or positive HPV testing.

Knowledge, attitudes and intention on fertility preservation among breast cancer patients.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in reproductive age women. The aim of this study is to assess the knowledge, attitude and intention on fertility preservation among women diagnosed to have breast cancer. This is a multi-centre cross-sectional questionnaire study.

Pediatric and adolescent gynecology through a global lens.

Girls and adolescents, aged 0-19 years make up almost 30% of the world's female population yet their specific healthcare needs often slip between the gaps of pediatrics and adult women's health. Pediatric and adolescent gynecology is the clinical field that endeavors to address the reproductive health needs of this age group. The environment and psychosocial well-being, social determinants of health, have direct bearing on reproductive health, affecting menstrual cycles, menstrual hygiene, and risks for unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.

Spontaneous resolution of labial adhesions in pre-pubertal girls.

Aims: This study sought to observe the rate and timing of spontaneous resolution of labial adhesions that had been diagnosed in pre-pubertal girls. The secondary aim was to evaluate the conservative approach to management of labial adhesions that has been advocated by the Gynaecology Department, by assessing the rates of concurrent uro-gynaecological symptoms in this population, as well as parent satisfaction with their child's management.

Methods: A retrospective chart review was performed of all patients diagnosed with labial adhesions in the Department of Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology between 2000 and 2017.

Factors influencing the career interest of medical graduates in obstetrics and gynaecology in Hong Kong: a cross-sectional questionnaire survey.

Introduction: The trend of declining interest of medical graduates in pursuing obstetrics and gynaecology as a career has been observed in many overseas studies. This study aimed to evaluate the career interest of the most recent medical graduates in Hong Kong, especially their level of interest in obstetrics and gynaecology, and to identify key influential factors for career choice and career interest in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Methods: All medical graduates from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong who attended the pre-internship lectures in June 2015 were invited to participate in this cross-sectional questionnaire survey.

The sonographic appearance and obstetric management of placenta accreta.

Placenta accreta is a condition of abnormal placental implantation in which the placental tissue invades beyond the decidua basalis. It may invade into or even through the myometrium and adjacent organs, such as the urinary bladder. The incidence has been rising in recent years.
