Among the various methods employed, fully convolutional networks (FCNs) have emerged as a prominent approach for segmenting medical images. Epidemiology of bone tumors in children and adolescents: a retrospective study of 266 patients in the south of Tunisia.

Although bone tumors (BT) are relatively uncommon among the human neoplasm, they constitute the most frequent tumors in children and adolescents (CAA). Little information is available about the epidemiologic features of BT in CAA. We aimed to present and discuss epidemiological characteristics of BT in CAA in southern Tunisia, regarding the different histological types.

Primary Ewing Sarcoma in the Sphenoidal Sinus: A Case Report.

ALK-Negative Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor: A Challenging Case in a Premature Newborn.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMT) are rare borderline tumors with a variable histological appearance that may mimic multiple mesenchymal tumors. We present a rare case of a challenging abdominal mass discovered in a premature newborn. The histopathology showed a bland myofibroblastic proliferation associated with an inflammatory infiltrate that was positive for smooth muscle actin and desmin but negative for anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) protein.

Mathematical modeling of Escherichia coli O157:H7 growth in carrot juice influenced by Thymbra capitata essential oil, heat treatment, and storage temperature.

The aim of this study was to develop a mathematical model describing the survival of Escherichia coli O157:H7 in carrot juice treated with Thymbra capitata essential oil combined with mild heat treatment and stored at different temperatures. The viable count method was used to investigate the effect of the treatment on bacterial survival, and the response surface methodology was used to develop a statistical model fitting the data. The results showed that the variance of bacterial growth is explained by storage temperature (37 %) and heat treatment (35 %), these are followed by Thymbra capitata essential oil (18 %) and their interaction (9 %).
