Medical image segmentation is crucial for accurate diagnosis and treatment in medical image analysis. Among the various methods employed, fully convolutional networks (FCNs) have emerged as a prominent approach for segmenting medical images. Notably, the U-Net architecture and its variants have gained widespread adoption in this domain.

Little information is available about the epidemiologic features of BT in CAA. We aimed to present and discuss epidemiological characteristics of BT in CAA in southern Tunisia, regarding the different histological types.

While it typically affects long bones, it can occur in the head and neck region, including the paranasal sinuses in rare cases. We present a challenging case of a 45-year-old female diagnosed with an EWS of the sphenoidal and the right nasal fossa.

We conducted a monocentric cross-sectional study, collecting 97 symptomatic patients to assess the diagnostic performance of histology in the detection of infection compared with PCR.

Hereby, we report a case of a 52-year-old patient who presented with upper gastro-intestinal bleeding and ascites and was diagnosed with gastric signet-ring cell carcinoma. A CT scan revealed peritoneal infiltration and anterior parietal thickening of bladder wall.

Diagnosis and management of this syndrome is challenging, especially in low-resource settings. This study describes a patient diagnosed with colorectal cancer and grade 3 astrocytoma at the age of 11 and 12 respectively.

Our study aimed to assess the impact of the pandemic on the pathological stage of newly diagnosed patients with BC compared to pre-pandemic and to identify predictive factors of tumor advanced stage.
Methods: Pathological records of all consecutive newly operated BC patients between March 2020 and December 2021 were reviewed retrospectively.
Polyploidy and metastasis are associated with a low probability of disease-free survival in cancer patients. Polyploid cells are known to facilitate tumorigenesis. However, few data associate polyploidization with metastasis.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a serious public health problem known to have a multifactorial etiology. The association between gut microbiota and CRC has been widely studied; however, the link between archaea and CRC has not been sufficiently studied. To investigate the involvement of archaea in colorectal carcinogenesis, we performed a metagenomic analysis of 68 formalin-embedded paraffin fixed tissues from tumoral ( = 33) and healthy mucosa ( = 35) collected from 35 CRC Tunisian patients.

Even though synthetic fungicides are an efficient control method, several negative side effects emerge from their extensive use, such as health problems, environmental pollution, and the emergence of resistant microorganisms. Thus, it is becoming more and more urgent to search for alternative control methods.

Warthin-like Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma (WLPTC) is an uncommon neoplasm that is recognized as a distinct subtype of PTC in the WHO classification of thyroid tumors. In this report, we present a novel case of WLPTC in a female patient and provide an in-depth review of the available literature on its clinical, pathological, and therapeutic characteristics.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMT) are rare borderline tumors with a variable histological appearance that may mimic multiple mesenchymal tumors. We present a rare case of a challenging abdominal mass discovered in a premature newborn. The histopathology showed a bland myofibroblastic proliferation associated with an inflammatory infiltrate that was positive for smooth muscle actin and desmin but negative for anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) protein.

This work aimed to identify the bioactive compounds using LC-MS and GC-MS and to evaluate the anticancer activity of the methanolic extracts of roots, stems, leaves, and flowers from . The anticancer activity was evaluated in vitro against two cancer cell lines: human breast carcinoma (MCF-7) and human prostate carcinoma (PC-3), using the MTT assay and microscopic observation.

The viable count method was used to investigate the effect of the treatment on bacterial survival, and the response surface methodology was used to develop a statistical model fitting the data. The results showed that the variance of bacterial growth is explained by storage temperature (37 %) and heat treatment (35 %), these are followed by Thymbra capitata essential oil (18 %) and their interaction (9 %).
