Background And Objectives: Friends are major sources of social support for adolescents. This support may sometimes lead to co-rumination when the problem is discussed exhaustively with a focus on negative feelings. Co-rumination has been associated with some forms of anxiety, including clinical symptoms.

Evidence exists that the Apple Watch Series 6 can reliably measure blood oxygen saturation (SpO) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease under controlled circumstances.
Objective: This study aimed to better understand older adults' acceptance of the Watch as a part of telemonitoring, even with these advancements.
Background: Amid the rise in mobile health, the Apple Watch now has the capability to measure peripheral blood oxygen saturation (SpO). Although the company indicated that the Watch is not a medical device, evidence suggests that SpO measurements among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are accurate in controlled settings. Yet, to our knowledge, the SpO function has not been validated for patients with COPD in naturalistic settings.

Introduction: Inconclusive results exist around the effectiveness of telemonitoring for patients with COPD, and studies recommended conducting subgroup analyses to identify patient phenotypes that could benefit from these services. This exploratory study investigated what type of COPD patients were receiving which type of telenursing interventions more frequently using the telemonitoring platform.
Methods: A sample of 36 older adults with COPD were receiving telenursing services for 12 months and were asked to answer five COPD-symptom related questions and submit their vital signs daily.
Background And Objectives: Stress is not inherently negative. As youth will inevitably experience stress when facing the various challenges of adolescence, they can benefit from developing a stress-can-be-enhancing mindset rather than learning to fear their stress responses and avoid taking on challenges. We aimed to verify whether a rapid intervention improved stress mindsets and diminished perceived stress and anxiety sensitivity in adolescents.

Current work to optimize LDKT delivery to patients has focused on microlevel interventions and has not addressed interdependencies with meso and macro levels of practice.
Objective: We aimed to learn from a health system with historically low LDKT performance to identify facilitators and barriers to LDKT.
Background: Studies report a growing tendency for students to experience state anxiety in schools. However, the combination of individual susceptibilities likely to trigger students' anxious states remains unclear.
Aims: This study examined whether distinct profiles of students emerge regarding their susceptibility to anxiety sensitivity and/or test anxiety and evaluated whether students' profile predicted anxious states.

Many teens report experiencing anxiety in school, which can negatively impact their well-being. Considering that adolescents tend to adopt the same behaviors as their classmates with whom they spend, on average, 923 h every year, the current exploratory study (1) assessed whether an association exists between a student’s state anxiety score and his/her classmates’ average trait anxiety scores and (2) examined whether this association differed between boys and girls, as well as between elementary school and high school students. During two consecutive school years, 1044 Canadian students (59% girls) from six elementary schools (aged 10−12) and seven high schools (aged 15−17) completed the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children.

This article examines the scope of current interventions for these populations. A meta-analysis of interventions used in schools over the last two decades is discussed to provide an overview of the current evidence base in this area worldwide. Recommendations are made to facilitate the application of these interventions to support child-migrants, child-immigrants, and child-refugees in the schools, and their families.

Here we demonstrate that a strategy that uses multi-epitope, personalized neoantigen vaccination, which has previously been tested in patients with high-risk melanoma, is feasible for tumours such as glioblastoma, which typically have a relatively low mutation load and an immunologically 'cold' tumour microenvironment. We used personalized neoantigen-targeting vaccines to immunize patients newly diagnosed with glioblastoma following surgical resection and conventional radiotherapy in a phase I/Ib study.

We analyzed all contributing causes of death to examine susceptibility of diabetics to CVD mortality from long-term exposure.

Here, we extensively screened for p53 aggregation phenotypes in tumour biopsies, and identified nuclear inclusion bodies (nIBs) of transcriptionally inactive mutant or wild-type p53 as the most frequent aggregation-like phenotype across six different cancer types. p53-positive nIBs co-stained with nuclear aggregation markers, and shared molecular hallmarks of nIBs commonly found in neurodegenerative disorders.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAstroblastomas are rare primary brain tumors, diagnosed based on histologic features. Not currently assigned a WHO grade, they typically display indolent behavior, with occasional variants taking a more aggressive course. We characterized the immunohistochemical characteristics, copy number (high-resolution array comparative genomic hybridization, OncoCopy) and mutational profile (targeted next-generation exome sequencing, OncoPanel) of a cohort of seven biopsies from four patients to identify recurrent genomic events that may help distinguish astroblastomas from other more common high-grade gliomas.

Cerebral hypoxia during cardiac arrest is the leading cause of mortality and morbidity in survival victims. To reduce cerebral damage, studies focus on finding effective treatments during the resuscitation period. Our report focuses on a 36-year-old police officer who had had two cardiac arrests (one at home and one at the hospital).

The JAT measures two core aspects of judgment, namely generation of solutions (G) and assessment of options (A), the two first stages of decision-making process.
Method: During the test development phase (study 1), a preliminary version of the JAT was evaluated by 14 experts and tested on 30 healthy controls (HC).
Introduction: Consumption of substances is a highly controversial behaviour, with those who do so commonly viewed as deviants, even criminals, or else as out of control addicts. In other work we showed that the use of substances by women who are pregnant or have recently become parents was mainly viewed by health and social care providers as morally wrong. Problematic substance use was framed through the narrow lens of gendered responsibilisation, resulting in women being seen primarily as foetal incubators and primary caregivers of infants.

Establishing the intraoperative diagnosis by histologic analysis can be difficult in low-cellularity infiltrative gliomas. Therefore, we developed a rapid and sensitive genotyping assay to detect somatic single-nucleotide variants in the telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) promoter and isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1).

In the last decades, however, the insula has been proposed to be involved in several neuropsychological functions, and there is a lack of documentation on whether partial or complete insulectomy results in permanent cognitive impairments in this clinical population. In this study, we conducted standard preoperative and postoperative neuropsychological assessments in 18 patients undergoing epilepsy surgery that included the removal of the insula in the right (n=13) or the left (n=5) hemisphere.

The use of substances by women who are pregnant or new parents is often conceptualised within an individualised framework. Yet drinking alcohol and using other drugs during pregnancy and early parenthood cuts across social divisions and is shaped by socio-structural contexts including health care.

Background: The leading causes of death for trauma patients in civilian and combat settings are traumatic brain injury and uncontrolled hemorrhage, respectively. This study examines the hemostatic activity of an ideal amphipathic peptide (IAP) attached to a biocompatible surface.
Methods: Procoagulant properties of IAP attached to a surface were first tested, in vitro, using factor Xa and thrombin generation assays and thromboelastography.
Primary Objective: Prospective memory (PM) impairments are often observed after traumatic brain injury (TBI). Although PM is crucial for daily functioning, few sensitive, valid and ecological clinical tests are available. To address these concerns, the authors developed a PM task, the TEMP, using naturalistic stimuli, in which each PM phase and component is evaluated independently in time- and event-based conditions.

An ideal amphipathic peptide (IAP), composed of simply lysine and leucine residues in a 1:2 ratio (K(7)L(15)), specifically prolongs in vitro coagulation assays that use phospholipids, such as the activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT). The main hypothesis of the present work is that IAP's anticoagulant effect occurs by competing with phospholipid membranes in in vitro coagulation reactions. We verified this hypothesis by employing different phospholipid-dependent coagulation assays, such as the APTT, the dilute prothrombin time (dPT) and the dilute Russell viper venom time (dRVVT) with both low and high amounts of phospholipids.
