The effect of digestion on nanocarriers will affect the release and pharmacological effects of bioactive compounds in delivery systems. The digestion of cellulose is limited to gut microbiota, which offers a new research strategy for targeted delivery of bioactive compounds. Herein, positively charged cellulose-like chitosan/polyvinylpyrrolidone nanofiber was prepared to improve the residence time, colon target and gut microbiota regulation activity of quercetin decorated selenium nanoparticles (QUE@SeNPs/CS/PVPNFs).

However, the applications of Res have been limited due to its low stability and water solubility. To enhance the bioaccessibility of Res, unfolding bovine serum albumin-modified selenium nanoparticles (UBSA@SeNPs) encapsulated within chitosan (CS)-coated Pickering emulsions (CS-UBSA@SeNPs-PE) were used to load Res.

The investigations intended to confirm the presence of apoptosis and to reveal the roles of oxidative stress, calcium (Ca2+), c‑Jun NH2‑terminal kinase (JNK)1/2, and extracellular signal‑regulated kinase (ERK)1/2 signaling pathway in these progresses. Cell apoptosis, ROS generation and intracellular Ca2+ concentration was measured by flow cytometry.

Method: The gene expressions of IL-17, IL-23 and their receptors in ITP patients and healthy controls were analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR.

Leptin system plays an important role in lung inflammation and tumorigenesis, but the precise function in the tumormicrovironment and the prognosis value of the leptin system in lung cancer have not been fully elucidated. This review will focus on the relationship between leptin system and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), in which special attentions will be paid on the expression of leption and its receptor (LepR) in peripheral blood and tumor tissues, leptin-related signal transduction pathways, the interaction between leption and regulatory T cells (Treg) and the gene polymorphisms of leptin and leptin receptor, and possibly provide new strategies for diagnosis and treatment of NSCLC.

We performed a systematic review of English-language studies published during the past three decades to investigate the diagnostic performance of serum glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) for the differential diagnosis of acute stroke, including intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and cerebral ischemia (CI). QUADAS tools were used to evaluate the quality of the study. Performance characteristics (diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, and other measures of accuracy) were pooled and examined using fixed-effects models.

Objective: To study muscle atrophy F-box (MAFbx) and muscle ring finger 1 (MuRF1) mRNA expression and its relationship with muscular contraction following free muscle transfer.
Methods: The gracilis muscle was orthotopic transferred in adult rat to establish the animal model. The muscle at the unoperated side was used as control.

Objective: To study the quantitative changes of ubiquitin ligase MAFbx mRNA and protein expression, muscle atrophy and muscle function following free muscle transplantation and to explore relationships among them.
Methods: Thirty-six female SD rats, SPF grade, weighing (250 +/- 25) g, were used. One hind limb of the rat was randomly selected as experimental side to receive in situ free gracilis muscle transplantation, and the counterlateral hind limb underwent no operation serving as control side.

Objective: To explore the relationship of polymorphisms in the ubiquitin carboxy-terminal hydrolase-L1 (UCH-L1) gene with Parkinson's disease(PD)in Shanghai Han Nationality.
Methods: The distribution of a Serine18Tyrosine polymorphism in exon 3(C/A) and a Serine89Phenylalanine polymorphism in exon 4(C/T)of UCH-L1 gene were detected in 164 PD cases and 172 healthy controls, using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) method.
Results: (1)The C allelic frequency in exon 3 of UCH-L1 gene in PD patients(62.
