Objective: This study aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of triple-dose intravenous tranexamic acid (TXA) in patients following total hip arthroplasty (THA) using thromboelastography (TEG).
Methods: One hundred thirty patients undergoing THA were prospectively enrolled in the study. According to the intravenous infusion TXA dose, patients were divided into single-dose (n=65; mean age=60.

Thermally triggered spatial symmetry breaking in traditional ferroelectrics has been extensively studied for manipulation of the ferroelectricity. However, photoinduced molecular orbital breaking, which is promising for optical control of ferroelectric polarization, has been rarely explored. Herein, for the first time, we synthesized a homochiral fulgide organic ferroelectric crystal (E)-(R)-3-methyl-3-cyclohexylidene-4-(diphenylmethylene)dihydro-2,5-furandione (1), which exhibits both ferroelectricity and photoisomerization.

Very recently, we pioneeringly discovered optical control of ferroelectric polarization switching in organic photochromic salicylaldehyde Schiff base and diarylethene derivatives, differently from the traditional ferroelectrics. However, the study of such intriguing photo-triggered ferroelectrics is still in its infancy and relatively scarce.

Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 60 patients with bilateral varus-type knee OA and 50 control subjects. All cases underwent bilateral lower limb CT angiography.
A salicylaldehyde Schiff base hybrid lead iodide perovskite [SAPD]PbI (SAPD = 1-((2-hydroxybenzylidene)amino)pyridin-1-ium) was found to show a robust nonlinear optical response and large spontaneous polarization. We expect this work to inspire researchers to investigate the optical control of ferroelectricity in hybrid perovskites.

However, although some 2D HOIP ferroelectrics have been achieved, the issue of toxic Pb and uniaxial nature impede their further application. Herein, for the first time, we report a lead-free 2D HOIP multiaxial ferroelectric, [3,3-difluorocyclobutylammonium]CuCl (), which shows four ferroelectric axes and eight equivalent polarization directions, more than those of the other 2D HOIP ferroelectrics and even the inorganic perovskite ferroelectric BaTiO (three ferroelectric axes and six equivalent polarization directions).

Two hundred and twenty-eight patients undergoing primary THA were recruited in this study. They were divided into two groups according to a computer-generated random sequence.

Although photochromism arising from geometrical isomerization was reported as early as 1867, such photoswitchable ferroelectric crystals have scarcely been developed to date. Herein, we report that salicylideneaniline is a photochromic ferroelectric crystal.

Purpose: The main purpose of this study was to investigate whether the use of a tourniquet changes the blood coagulation state following primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) by means of conventional coagulation tests and thromboelastography (TEG) analyses.
Methods: A total of 154 patients who underwent primary unilateral TKA from January 2018 to October 2020 were enrolled.
Organic radical ferroics such as TEMPO have attracted widespread interest. However, the relatively low Curie temperature of 287 K and melting point of 311 K severely hinder its application potential. Despite extensive interest, high-temperature radical ferroics have not yet been found.

Herein, by homochiral anionic modification of the non-ferroelectric (quinuclidinium)(HSO), we designed high-temperature multiaxial organic enantiomeric ferroelectrics, (quinuclidinium)(l- and d-camphorsulfonate). This work paves a new road for precisely constructing excellent molecular ferroelectrics.

Reports of chiral perovskite ferroelectrics, however, have been scarce. In this work, we have successfully synthesized homochiral lead-iodide perovskite ferroelectrics [(R)-N-(1-phenylethyl)ethane-1,2-diaminium]PbI and [(S)-N-(1-phenylethyl)ethane-1,2-diaminium]PbI by introducing a methyl group into the organic cation of the parent (N-benzylethane-1,2-diaminium)PbI .

In recent years, great technological advances have been achieved in the growth of hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites (HOIPs) and these have attracted extensive attention due to their optoelectronic properties, structural tunability and stability. We present here a new two-dimensional hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite, namely, poly[bis(3-fluorocyclobutylammonium) [di-μ-iodido-diiodidoplumbate(VI)]], {(CHFN)[PbI]}, showing a two-dimensional reticular layer with the organic cations in the middle of the meshes. The calculated experimental band gap is 2.

Methods: A total of 152 patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty from January 2017 to March 2019 were randomized to 2 groups.
Increasing evidence has demonstrated that the dysregulated expression of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) has important roles in the progression of osteoarthritis (OA), but the function of the lncRNA SNHG15 remains unclear. In the present study, we observed that SNHG15 was downregulated in OA cartilage tissues and IL-1β-induced chondrocytes. The lower expression of SNHG15 was negatively associated with the observed modified Mankin scale scores, extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation and chondrocyte apoptosis.

However, it is still a huge challenge to obtain high (above room temperature) Curie temperature () molecular ferroelectrics to meet the application requirements. Here, we present a new organic-inorganic hybrid molecular ferroelectric, [cyclopentylammonium]CdBr (), showing a moderate above-room-temperature of 340.

The two-step sequential reversible phase transitions of 1 derive from the order-disorder transformation of CoCl4 anions and organic Me3NCH2Cl cations, respectively.
