Double Doping of BiCuSeO with Ca and Pb to Increase the Electrical Transport Properties and Reduce the Lattice Thermal Conductivity Synchronously.

A series of nearly single-phase Ca- and Pb-codoped BiCuSeO bulks are fabricated via 4 min of microwave heating and 5 min of spark plasma sintering (SPS). The phase composition, microstructure, and valence state of the samples are investigated systematically, and the effects of Ca and Pb dopants being added into the samples to the alternative Bi sites on the cooperative optimization of the electrical and thermal transport properties are discussed. After codoping, the electrical conductivity and power factor of the samples are significantly improved by synchronously optimizing the carrier concentration and carrier mobility.

Injectable zein gel with in situ self-assembly as hemostatic material.

Zein is a biocompatible and biodegradable corn protein with promising properties for biomedical applications. It is hydrophobic with the ability to self-assemble in an aqueous medium. It can also form a gel in hydroalcoholic solvents at higher concentrations.

[Research on Rapid Detection Technology for Quality Control of Emergency Ventilator].

Objective: In order to grasp the quality status of the first-aid ventilator in pre-hospital and field environment in time, the quality control and detection items of invasive ventilator were optimized to form a rapid detection operation process of first-aid ventilator and ensure the safety of patient treatment.

Methods: Based on the quality control detection data of invasive ventilator in hospital in recent years, methods such as narrowing the range of qualified criteria and analyzing confidence interval were adopted to extract indicators prone to deviation and verify their correlation with similar indicators, so as to form an optimized rapid detection portfolio.

Results: Compared with the original quality control detection procedures, the detection indicators of the rapid detection procedures were reduced from 5 categories of 24 indicators to 3 categories of 7 indicators.

BiCuSeO oxyselenide, one of the best oxygen-containing thermoelectric materials, is promising with great potential applications. In this work, we present a high ZT of >1.3 in BiPbCuFeSeO fabricated microwave synthesis and subsequent spark plasma sintering (SPS).

Rapid and effective hemostasis for a noncompressible hemorrhage is the key to control bleeding and reduce mortality. Chitosan (CS) has been widely used as a popular hemostatic dressing; however, irregularly shaped wounds present in emergencies limit the performance of CS powder. To improve the hemostatic effect of CS, we modified it with poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), a fast-swelling sponge triggered by water.

[Evaluation of implementation effect of schistosomiasis control program in Jiangsu Province from 2010 to 2015].

Objective: To evaluate the actual effect of the schistosomiasis control program in Jiangsu Province from 2010 to 2015.

Methods: A total of 67 schistosomiasis-endemic counties in 10 cities were selected, and a combination of retrospective investigation and on-site investigation was adopted to collect and record the epidemic data of the counties from 2010 to 2015, and a retrospective survey database of epidemic situation was established. The effects of integrated control strategies with both snail control and infection source control were evaluated.

Mother gestational exposure to organophosphorus pesticide induces neuron and glia loss in daughter adult brain.

Chlorpyrifos (CPF) is a widely used organophosphorus pesticide with developmental neurotoxicity such as morphogenesis toxicity. In the present study, we assessed the effects of prenatal CPF exposure on systemic parameters and cytoarchitecture of medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) in adulthood. Gestational dams were exposed to 5mg/kg/d of CPF during gestational days 13-17, while body weight, organ coefficient, and neuron and glia counts of offspring were determined on postnatal day 60.

Background: Recently we found the ethanolic extract and iridoid-rich fraction from Valeriana jatamansi Jones, which is a traditional Chinese medicine exhibited anxiolytic properties.

Objective: This study aims to the substance dependence effect of the ethanolic extract and iridoid-rich fraction.

Materials And Methods: The study included two experiments: Mice were given orally with ethanolic extract for 12 weeks or iridoid-rich fraction for 16 weeks in experiment I and experiment II, respectively.

[Comparison of three dynamic algorithms of electrical impedance tomography based on simulation study].

Three algorithms of electrical impedance tomography (EIT) are studied in this paper. The image resolution, anti-noise property and computation rapidity of the reconstruction algorithms are compared. As a result, it shows that back-projection algorithm has good anti-noise property, that NOSER algorithm generates images with good resolution, and that sensitivity matrix algorithm has moderate property.
