This study was conducted to investigate the protective effects of chlorogenic acid (CGA) on intestinal health in broilers challenged with avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC). One hundred and eighty one-day-old male broiler chicks were divided into three groups with six replicates of ten chicks each for a 21-day trial. The birds in the control and APEC groups were fed a basal diet, while birds in the CGA-treated group received a basal diet supplemented with 1000 mg/kg of CGA.

Background: Moral sensitivity is a precondition for ethical decision making. Developing this sensitivity equips nursing students with the skills to identify and respond appropriately to ethical dilemmas, which are essential as they prepare to enter clinical settings.
Objective: To investigate the optimal stimulation intensity and reference range of the unilateral centrifugation subjective visual vertical (UC-SVV) test and to fill the technical gap in otolithic function evaluation in patients with peripheral vestibular diseases.
Method: Forty healthy subjects (median age 28 years) underwent a UC-SVV test at rotation speeds of 60, 120, 180, and 240 deg./s using the Neuro Kinetics Inc.

Background: species are rare opportunistic pathogens in the clinic, with strong invasiveness and dissemination, that can cause serious pulmonary infection, especially in immunocompromised patients, chronic lung diseases and hormone use, and is easy to be missed and misdiagnosed, preventing patients from obtaining timely and effective treatment, resulting in a high mortality rate.
Case Presentation: Here, we present a rare case of a patient with chronic bronchiectasis and IgA nephropathy who developed pneumonia shortly after hormone therapy. The patient presented with tongue and lip ulcers, chest distress, cough, expectoration, and fever as the initial symptoms, which were extremely similar to common bacterial pulmonary infections.

By culturing 15 species of dinoflagellate at various temperatures, we measured their carbon, nitrogen, and chlorophyll-a content. The results indicated that temperature significantly influences the growth rate, C/N ratio, and chlorophyll-a content of these dinoflagellate.

This study investigated the multifaceted effects of 4,4'-thiodiphenol (TDP) on male reproductive health, focusing on its toxicity, hormonal modulation, and impact on steroidogenesis. Male rats were exposed to TDP at varying doses (0, 1, 10, and 100 mg/kg) from day 35-56 postpartum. Overt toxicity was evident as TDP significantly reduced inhibited spermatogenesis at 10 and 100 mg/kg.

Notoginsenoside R1 (NG-R1), an active compound derived from PN root, has been reported to possess various pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticancer, antimicrobial, and angiogenic effects. However, NG-R1's pharmacokinetic properties and pharmacological activities have not been systematically elucidated.

Exploring the performance characteristics of spontaneous nystagmus(SN) in video-head impulse test(vHIT) and its possible effects on saccade. Vestibular function tests such as vHIT and SN were conducted in 48 patients with acute unilateral vestibulopathy(AUVP). The saccade characteristics of vHIT in patients without SN and those with SN were analyzed, as well as the expression characteristics of SN in vHIT.

Although numerous factors have been suggested to control the development of pulmonary blood vessels, the mechanisms underlying the role of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in this process remain unclear.
Methods: A lncRNA array was used to measure the differential expression of lncRNAs in premature infants with and without BPD.

The exploration of Venus has received much attention in the past and will keep growing due to the starting of the NASA DAVINCI project. To explain the extremely low O : CO ratio observed in Venus' atmosphere, a chlorine-initiated CO oxidation catalytic cycle has been proposed. However, relevant studies on the key intermediates, such as the peroxychloroformyl radical (ClC(O)OO), are rare.

The stroke-like episode affecting the cortical cortex is the hallmark of MELAS; however, it rarely presents as simultaneously bilateral symmetric cortices lesions.
Case Report: We reported a case of MELAS in a 46-year-old female patient with bilateral symmetric occipital and internal temporal cortices involvements on brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Educational technologies have proven to be an effective way to guide and educate patients, allowing them to increase awareness of their dysphagia condition and how treatment will help them. In this sense, this study aimed to develop and validate the content and appearance of 3D iconographic videos, which addressed the physiological demonstration and execution of protective and facilitating swallowing maneuvers, as well as verifying the feasibility of its use in teleconsultation, having adults and elderly people with oropharyngeal dysphagia as the main target audience. The development of the 3D videos was elaborated based on a guiding scientific script, constructed from an integrative literature review.

The objective of this study was to elucidate whether bumblebees display means-end comprehension in a string-pulling task. We presented bumblebees with two options: one where a string was connected to an artificial flower containing a reward and the other presenting an interrupted string.

Methods: In total, 160 one-day-old Arbor Acres Plus broilers (half male and half female) were randomly divided into two groups with ten replicates of eight birds each: The control group was served with a basal diet including SBM stored at -20°C (FSBM), and the experimental group was served with a basal diet including SBM stored in a warehouse at room temperature for 45 days (RSBM).
Results: Compared with FSBM, the protein carbonyl level in RSBM was increased, the free and total thiol levels and in vitro digestibility of protein were decreased.

Although extensive studies have been conducted on Criegee intermediates in the past decade, their kinetics with radical species remain underexplored. We investigated the kinetics of the simplest Criegee intermediate, CHOO, with the methyl peroxy radical, CHO, as a model system to explore the reactivities of Criegee intermediates with peroxy radicals.
