Local Characteristics Related to SARS-CoV-2 Transmissions in the Seoul Metropolitan Area, South Korea.

The Seoul metropolitan area is one of the most populated metropolitan areas in the world; hence, Seoul's COVID-19 cases are highly concentrated. This study identified local demographic and socio-economic characteristics that affected SARS-CoV-2 transmission to provide locally targeted intervention policies. For the effective control of outbreaks, locally targeted intervention policies are required since the SARS-CoV-2 transmission process is heterogeneous over space.

Land use and semen quality: A fertility center cohort study.

This study explored the association between built environment and semen parameters among men who sought fertility evaluation. We used a data of 5,886 men living in the Seoul capital area whose semen was tested at a single fertility center during 2016-2018. Distance to fresh water, the coast, major roadways, and neighborhood greenness measured by Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) were evaluated.

With increased population and urban development, there are growing concerns regarding health impacts of environmental noise. We assessed the relationship between nighttime environmental noise and semen quality of men who visited for fertility evaluation. This is a retrospective cohort study of 1,972 male patient who had undertaken semen analysis between 2016-2018 at a single fertility center of Seoul, South Korea.

Induction of myeloma-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes responses by natural killer cells stimulated-dendritic cells in patients with multiple myeloma.

The interaction between dendritic cells (DCs) and natural killer (NK) cells plays a key role in inducing DC maturation for subsequent T-cell priming. We investigated to generate potent DCs by stimulated with NK cells to induce myeloma-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). NK cells-stimulated-DCs exhibited high expression of costimulatory molecules and high production of IL-12p70.
