Objective: To compare the effects of ultrasound-guided serratus anterior plane block (SAPB) and thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB) on postoperative analgesia and inflammation control in patients undergoing upper abdominal surgery.
Methods: This is a retrospective observational study. The records of patients who underwent upper abdominal surgery in our hospital from June 2019 to January 2021 were selected and retrospectively divided into two groups based on the analgesia method.
Ulinastatin is a broad-spectrum protease inhibitor widely used for the treatment of various inflammation-related diseases owing to its recognized excellent anti-inflammatory and cytoprotective properties. However, whether ulinastatin can relieve postoperative pain remains unclear. In this study, we evaluated the analgesic effects of ulinastatin administered either as a single agent or in combination with sufentanil in a validated preclinical rat model of postoperative pain induced by plantar incision.
