Prosocial risky behavior (PRB) refers to actions taken at personal risk for the benefit of others or societal welfare, combining risk-taking with prosocial intent, and involving the integrated processing of individual risk and social preferences. Building upon the review and evaluation of the definitions of PRB, existing research tools, theoretical models, and neural mechanisms, this paper elucidates the synergistic interaction and mechanisms of the emotional drive and cognitive reasoning systems in PRB. It constructs a dual-system collaborative model for PRB.

The grain size effect is an important factor in determining the material removal behavior of polycrystalline silicon (p-Si). In the present study, to improve the understanding of nanoscale machining of p-Si, we performed molecular dynamics simulation of nanometric cutting on a p-Si workpiece and discussed the grain size effect on material removal behavior and subsurface damage formation. The simulation results indicate that when cutting on the polycrystal workpiece, the material removal process becomes unstable compared with single crystals.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), a malignant cancer originating from the epithelial cells of the nasopharynx, presents diagnostic challenges with current methods such as plasma Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA testing showing limited efficacy. This study focused on identifying small extracellular vesicle (sEV) proteins as potential noninvasive biomarkers to enhance NPC diagnostic accuracy. Background: Proper sedation of patients, particularly elderly individuals, who are more susceptible to sedation-related complications, is of significant importance in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). This study aims to assess the safety and efficacy of a low-dose combination of midazolam, alfentanil, and propofol for deep sedation in elderly patients undergoing ERCP, compared to a group of middle-aged patients.

In the field of membrane separation, the environmental concerns caused by spent membranes are becoming increasingly serious, which contradicts the concept of sustainable development. Based on this, a biodegradable poly(butylene adipate--terephthalate) (PBAT) membrane was used for the first time in the pervaporation separation of phenol, a high boiling point organic compound (HBOC). This study reports the development of a programmed pollen self-elimination CRISPR-Cas (PSEC) system in which the pollen is infertile when PSEC is present in haploid pollen. PSEC can be inherited through the female gametophyte and retains genome editing activity in vivo across generations. Currently, direct electrolysis of seawater-based electrolytes rather than fresh water based ones for hydrogen production is gaining more and more attentions for creating a sustainable society. However, using seawater remains more challenges owing to the existence of competitive reactions between chlorine evolution reaction (ClER) or hypochlorite generation reaction and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and electrode erosion. In this study, a MnCoO nanowire coated with NiFe-Layered Double Hydroxide (NiFe-LDH) layer (MnCoO@NiFe-LDH) composite electrocatalyst prepared by a simple two-step hydrothermal method was applied for the seawater electrolysis, which exhibited low overpotentials of 219 and 245 mV at a relatively high current density of 100 mA cm in alkaline simulated and natural seawaters, respectively, as the anode electrocatalyst.
