Lycium barbarum is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb used for various ailments, and this study focuses on its endophytic fungi from Shandong province, eastern China.
17 endophytic fungi were isolated from the plant, classified into ten genera, and tested for antibacterial, cytotoxic, and antioxidant activities, with GQ-6 and GQ-16 showing promising results.
Four monomeric compounds were identified from Cladosporium sp. GQ-6, including two new compounds, which demonstrated antifungal and antibacterial activities, highlighting the potential of these fungi as sources of natural products.
