Endophytic fungi of Lycium barbarum: isolation, determination, bioactivity and separation of compounds.

- Lycium barbarum is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb used for various ailments, and this study focuses on its endophytic fungi from Shandong province, eastern China.
- 17 endophytic fungi were isolated from the plant, classified into ten genera, and tested for antibacterial, cytotoxic, and antioxidant activities, with GQ-6 and GQ-16 showing promising results.
- Four monomeric compounds were identified from Cladosporium sp. GQ-6, including two new compounds, which demonstrated antifungal and antibacterial activities, highlighting the potential of these fungi as sources of natural products.
