Red blood cell distribution width (RDW) is a risk factor for the complications caused by obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS). This study was aimed to evaluate the predictive value of RDW for the occurrence of cerebral infarction in patients with OSAHS.We conducted a prospective study of 129 consecutive patients who were admitted to the Sleep Laboratory of in the Tenth People's Hospital of Shanghai (China) with complaints of snoring, apnea, or daytime sleepiness.

This study was designed to establish a biomarker risk model for predicting brain metastasis (BM) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The model comprises 120 cases of NSCLC that were treated and followed up for 4 years. The patients were divided into the BM (n=50) and non-BM (other visceral metastasis and those without recurrence) (n=70) groups.
