Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to investigate how miR-34c affects the transformation and growth of human aortic vascular smooth muscle cells (HA-VSMCs) induced by PDGF-BB, focusing on the PDGFR-β/SIRT1 pathway to find potential treatments for cardiovascular diseases.
  • Researchers treated HA-VSMCs with PDGF-BB over various time frames and assessed cell behaviors such as proliferation, migration, and apoptosis using several assays and staining techniques.
  • Findings indicated that miR-34c mimics reduced HA-VSMC proliferation and migration while promoting apoptosis, as well as altering the expressions of key proteins, suggesting that miR-34c could be a valuable target for early diagnosis and therapy in cardiovascular conditions.

Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a devastating and complicated disease with significant morbidity and mortality. Previous studies have shown that genetic susceptibility may play an important role in the outcome of a given individual with aSAH. This study evaluates the potential association in effects of the APOE allele on the early brain injury (EBI) in light of elevated intracranial pressure (ICP) and cerebral perfusion disorders in a consecutive series of non-comatose Chinese patients with aSAH.

Objective: To explore the expression pattern of inflammatory cytokines at various inflammatory levels of adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma by cytokine antibody array.

Methods: The inflammatory levels of adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma were evaluated on the basis of the number of inflammatory cells at the interface of tumor and normal tissues. And the expression of inflammatory cytokines was examined at various inflammatory levels of adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma by inflammatory cytokine antibody array and the results were verified by Western blot.
