Continuous monitoring of seismogenic faults can advance our understanding of the evolution process, holding important keys for forecasting future earthquakes. We report here seismic velocity variations around the Anninghe fault zone in southwest China based on seismic interferometry techniques. We observed that tidal forces significantly impact velocity changes within the fault fracture zone, inducing periodic changes in seismic velocity on diurnal, semidiurnal and monthly scales.

Despite the development of several CDK12/13 inhibitors, challenges remain in achieving an optimal balance of potency, selectivity and pharmacokinetic properties. Here, we report the discovery of , a novel, potent and highly selective covalent inhibitor of CDK12/13 with reasonable pharmacokinetic profiles.

Methods: We searched the literature from database creation to December 2023; our primary endpoint was clinical response rate. Secondary outcome measures were the inhibition rate of Helicobacter pylori and clinical symptom score, including pain and noisy scores for the stomach, score for belch and acid reflux, score for the bitter taste and the dry throat, and safety according to total adverse events.

With the development of high-density integrated chips, low-k dielectric materials are used in the back end of line (BEOL) to reduce signal delay. However, due to the application of fine-pitch packages with high-hardness copper pillars, BEOL is susceptible to chip package interaction (CPI), which leads to reliability issues such as the delamination of interlayer dielectric (ILD) layers. In order to improve package reliability, the effect of CPI at multi-scale needs to be explored in terms of package integration.

Intermuscular coupling analysis (IMC) provides important clues for understanding human muscle motion control and serves as a valuable reference for the rehabilitation assessment of stroke patients. However, the higher-order interactions and microscopic characteristics implied in IMC are not fully understood. This study introduced a multiscale intermuscular coupling analysis framework based on complex networks with O-Information (Information About Organizational Structure).

Methods: In this multi-center retrospective study, 559 patients with double invasion who underwent curative gastrectomy between May 2002 and December 2020 were analyzed. Prognostic factors for PFS were identified using Lasso-Cox regression.
Background: Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH) is a critical and disabling form of stroke and accounts for an obvious number of stroke-related deaths and disabilities globally. Hematoma growth is a key target for therapeutic intervention because of its association with poor outcomes. Recently, the STOP-MSU trial showed that intravenous tranexamic acid (TA) did not reduce hematoma growth or improve clinical outcomes when administered within 2 h of intracerebral hemorrhage symptom onset.

Methods: This cohort study included participants from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) 2011-2020.
Background: The FLASH effect is dose-dependent, and fractional dose optimization may enhance it, improving normal tissue sparing.
Purpose: This study investigates the performance of fractional dose optimization in enhancing normal tissue sparing for Bragg peak FLASH radiotherapy (FLASH-RT).
Methods: 15 lung cancer patients, including eight with peripherally located tumors and seven with centrally located tumors, were retrospectively analyzed.
Gold plating on stainless steel is extensively utilized in the electronics industry. Chemical gold plating, a prevalent method for plating preparation, offers advantages such as being a straightforward process. However, it often suffers from performance issues, particularly low adhesion strength, which hinders its widespread adoption.

NAC (NAM, ATAF1/2, and CUC2) transcription factors (TFs) are a family of plant-specific TFs that play crucial roles in various aspects of plant development and stress responses. Here, we provide an in-depth review of the structural characteristics, regulatory mechanisms, and functional roles of NACs in different plant species. One of the key features of NACs is their ability to regulate gene expression through a variety of mechanisms, including binding to DNA sequences in the promoter regions of target genes, interacting with other TFs, and modulating chromatin structure.

However, the challenge of inaccurate detection due to variations in operating temperature is a significant hurdle for their practical use. To address this, we develop a ratiometric-gas sensing method that leverages the exceptional photoelectric and chemiresistive gas sensing sensitivity of organic-inorganic hybrid superlattice materials AgBDT (BDT = 1,4-benzenedithiol).

Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted on databases from their inception to May 31, 2023, to identify all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that investigated the efficacy of CPMs in combination with conventional WMs in the treatment of patients with H pylori-related GU. Using Cochrane risk of bias assessment tool, we evaluated the methodological quality of RCTs.
Background: Patients with cryptogenic stroke or embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS) face a high risk of recurrent ischaemic stroke, but the optimal antithrombotic strategy remains unclear. This systematic review and meta-analysis compared the effectiveness and safety of oral anticoagulants (OACs) versus antiplatelets in these populations, with a focus on subgroup effects by key clinical characteristics.
Methods: Six databases were searched through March 2024 to identify randomised controlled trials (RCTs) comparing OACs and antiplatelets in patients with cryptogenic stroke or ESUS.
Diet quality is closely related to the occurrence of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers; however, few studies have investigated the association between the Healthy Eating Index (HEI-2020) and the alternative Mediterranean diet (aMED) scores and GI (GI) cancers. This study aims to assess the association between HEI-2020, aMED scores and GI cancers. Information from a total of 26,320 participants was included in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).

Nonetheless, the expression regulation, biological functions, and underlying mechanisms of circRNAs in mediating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression remain insufficiently elucidated.
Methods: We identified circUCK2(2,3) through circRNA sequencing, RT-PCR, and Sanger sequencing.
Adeno-associated viruses (AAV) have significant potential as vaccine carriers due to their excellent biosafety and efficient antigen gene delivery. However, most AAV vaccines show limited capacity to transduce antigen-presenting cells (APCs) following intramuscular injection which may cause inadequate cellular immune responses and undesired side effects due to transducing other tissues or cells. Herein, we developed a soluble microneedle patch for targeting the AAV vaccines to the epidermal and dermal APCs.

It is generally believed that different RNA viruses are recognized by either RIG-I or MDA5, two important RLR members, depending on the nature of pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) that are generated by RNA virus replication. Dengue virus (DENV) is an important RNA virus causing serious human diseases.

Background And Objectives: Social engagement is positively associated with cognitive health, yet the role of these activities across the life span and in different contexts remains under-explored. This study investigates the association between social activities and two domains of cognitive functioning among middle-aged and older Chinese individuals, a population with the highest number of dementia cases in the world. We pay particular attention to the unique role of activities in midlife on cognitive decline in the later years.
