Argyrodites are among the most promising sulfide-based solid electrolytes (SEs) due to their high ionic conductivity and ductility. However, the poor atmospheric stability of sulfide-based SEs caused by the side reaction with moisture, which generates toxic HS gas and degrades its high ionic conductivity and low electronic conductivity, has limited the commercialization of ASSBs. Herein, the preparation of sulfide-based SEs consisting of a LiPSCl (LPSCl) core and fluoride-rich LPSCl shell are described using a facial fluorine treatment following an annealing process to improve atmospheric stability.

Background: Hippocampal atrophy is implicated in the early onset of Alzheimer's disease (AD). It is closely associated with rapid cognitive decline and serves as a critical predictor for conversion from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to AD. Consequently, with growing interest in utilizing hippocampal volume (HV) as an outcome measure in clinical trials, elucidating the neurobiological mechanisms underlying hippocampal atrophy is essential for early diagnosing AD and predicting its progression.

Peroxydisulfate (PDS) activation is a crucial process for wastewater treatment in complicated water matrices. However, it is frequently limited because of poor selectivity, sluggish kinetics, and short lifetime of radicals. Therefore, in this study, an efficient sulfur-doped CN/DyFeO (SCN/DyF) Z-scheme heterostructure catalyst was rationally developed using a simple wet-chemical strategy to photoactivate PDS, which can effectively degrade norfloxacin (NOR; 96.

Drug delivery systems hold promise for delivering cytotoxic drugs by controlling the timing and location of the drug release. However, conventional delivery mechanisms often fall short of achieving spatiotemporally controlled yet sustained release, which is crucial for ensuring drug efficacy and minimizing impact on surrounding tissues. Here, an ionic diode-based drug delivery system is reported that is controlled by an electric potential and capable of releasing drugs at scales ranging from nanogram to microgram.

Sphingolipids are vital membrane components in in mammalian cells, plants, and various microbes. We aimed to explore and exploit the sphingolipid biosynthesis pathways in an oleaginous and dimorphic yeast Yarrowia lipolytica by constructing and characterizing mutant strains with specific gene deletions and integrating exogenous genes to enhance the production of long-chain bases (LCBs) and glucosylceramides (GlcCers). To block the fungal/plant-specific phytosphingosine (PHS) pathway, we deleted the SUR2 gene encoding a sphinganine C4-hydroxylase, resulting in a remarkably elevated secretory production of dihydrosphingosine (DHS) and sphingosine (So) without acetylation.
