Fibrosing inflammatory pseudotumor of the nasopharynx: MR features and histopathologic correlation.

Purpose: To describe the magnetic resonance (MR) imaging features of six cases of pathologically proven fibrosing inflammatory pseudotumor involving the nasopharynx, and to compare the MR signal intensities of the lesions with histopathologic findings.

Methods: We reviewed the MR finding of six patients with pathologically proved fibrosing inflammatory pseudotumor at the nasopharyngeal wall with respect to the following points: extent, margins, signal intensity and enhancement degree of the lesion; cervical lymphadenopathy and response to steroid therapy. MR findings were correlated with histopathologic findings.

Central nervous system lymphomatoid granulomatosis presenting with parkinsonism.

Lymphomatoid granulomatosis (LG) is a potentially malignant lymphoproliferative disorder. The lung is the most common involved site, followed by the skin and nervous system. However, LG of the central nervous system presenting with Parkinsonism is very rare.

Isocenter accuracy in frameless stereotactic radiotherapy using implanted fiducials.

Purpose: The stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) system verifies isocenter accuracy in patient space. In this study, we evaluate isocenter accuracy in frameless SRT using implanted cranial gold markers.

Materials And Methods: We performed frameless SRT on 43 intracranial tumor patients between August 1997 and December 2000.

Clinical Experience in Conformal Stereotactic Radiotherapy of Irregularly Shaped Intracranial Tumors.

Purpose: The dosimetric advantages of multiple non-coplanar stationary fields for stereotactic radiotherapy or adiosurgery (SRT/S) are well known. However, this technique is not widely used due to the logistical problems associated with producing and testing customized collimators. We report our experience of SRT/S using multiple non-coplanar stationary fields (conformal SRT/ S).
