Background: Although cognitive training has shown potential for treating post-stroke aphasia (PSA), its efficacy varies across studies, and the optimal training approaches remain unclear.
Objective: To evaluate and compare the effects of distinct cognitive training interventions, either combined with or independent of speech and language therapy (SLT), on language function in individuals with PSA.
Methods: A systematic search encompassing PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, VIP, and Chinese Biomedical Databases was conducted for randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of the Chinese medicine detoxification and dredging collaterals in treating carotid atherosclerosis (CAS). A systematic and comprehensive search of nine relevant domestic and international databases were conducted from their inception until June 2022. The methodological quality of the included trials was evaluated, and the efficacy and safety were comprehensively analyzed.

However, the most efficacious treatment for improving different domains of cognitive impairment remains unknown.
Objective: We aimed to conduct a systematic review and network meta-analysis (NMA) to compare the efficacy of various scalp stimulation protocols used in PSCID treatment.
Heart failure (HF) is often accompanied by cognitive impairment (CI). Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) deficiency is closely associated with CI. However, the role and mechanism of BDNF in HF with CI is still not fully understood.

This process promotes the development of heart failure. This study aimed to reveal the involvement of indole-3-propionic acid (IPA), a microbiota-derived tryptophan metabolite, in heart failure.

Methods: We retrieved appropriate references from the electronic databases of PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Cochrane Library, and then evaluated the methodology quality of included references using the QUADAS-2 tool. We calculated the pooled sensitivity and specificity by applying a bivariate mixed-effects model and detected the publication bias using Deeks' funnel plot.
Objective: Limb numbness is a frequent symptom of post-stroke somatosensory dysfunction, which may be alleviated by non-invasive therapy such as acupuncture. However, the precise mechanism via acupuncture remains unknown. The goal of this study was to investigate how the amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (ALFF) and functional connectivity (FC) changed between stroke patients with limb numbness and healthy people, as well as how acupuncture might work.

Electroacupuncture (EA) is a minimally invasive therapeutic option for PSA treatment. Tongli (HT5) and Xuanzhong (GB39), two important language-associated acupoints, are frequently used in the rehabilitation of patients with PSA.

The aim of this meta-analysis was to provide evidence-based medical guidance and advice for the clinical application of edaravone in the treatment of ALS.
Methods: PubMed, Embase, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), Cochrane Library and Web of Science were searched through 09 March 2022 for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the safety and efficacy of edaravone versus placebo during follow-up of patients with ALS.
Objectives: To review the current research status of the neuroimaging of aphasia, and reveal the hotspots and frontiers of research in this field.
Methods: We searched articles related to the neuroimaging research on aphasia since Web of Science (WOS) database construction and extracted the data. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used for the country/institution analysis, journal analysis, discipline analysis, burst keyword analysis and cited-reference cluster analysis.
Background: Ischemic stroke is a common type of stroke associated with reorganization of functional network of the brain.
Objective: This pilot study aimed to investigate the characteristics of functional brain networks based on EEG in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
Methods: Seven patients with ischemic stroke within 72 hours of onset and seven healthy controls were enrolled in the study.

Cardio-cerebrovascular disease (CCVD) has become the leading cause of human mortality with the coming acceleration of global population aging. Atherosclerosis is among the most common pathological changes in CCVDs. It is also a multifactorial disorder; oxidative stress caused by excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) has become an important mechanism of atherosclerosis.

In general, the language alterations in PSA are normally evaluated from the perspective of the language processing models developed from Western languages such as English. However, the successful application of the models for assessing Chinese-language functions in patients with PSA has not been reported.

To further improve cAMP biosynthesis, the effects of polyphosphate on cAMP fermentation performance together with intracellular ATP and oxidation levels were investigated under high oxidative stress condition and then high efficient cAMP fermentation process based on polyphosphate and salvage synthesis was developed and studied.
Results: With 2 g/L-broth sodium hexametaphosphate added at 24 h was determined as the optimal condition for cAMP production by Arthrobacter sp.
Objectives: In our previous study, citrate was used as auxiliary energy substance for improving cAMP fermentation performance, however, the regulation mechanism of citrate on improved cAMP contents was not clear. To elucidate the regulation mechanism, cAMP fermentations with/without citrate addition were conducted in a 7 L fermentor using Arthrobacter sp. CCTCC 2013431 and assays on key enzymes activities, energy metabolism level, amino acids contents and peroxidation level were performed.

Based on the gene-chip raw data set of GSE22255 from National Center of Biotechnology Information(NCBI), the article enrolled in 20 patients with ischemic stroke and 20 sex-and age-matched controls, and differentially expressed genes(DEGs) were screened based on R language software. The DAVID tool and R language software were used to perform gene ontology(GO) biological process enrichment analysis and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and gnomes(KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis.

Methods: We searched nine electronic literature databases and two clinical registry platforms to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and quasi-RCTs performed up to September 2020. Screening, quality assessment, and data collection were performed by two authors independently, using standard protocols.
Background: Pulmonary infection is the most common complication to develop after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Antibiotics have certain limitations when used to treat pulmonary infection, while Tanreqing injection (TRQI) is extensively used to treat pulmonary infection as an adjuvant to antibiotics. The aim of this meta-analysis was to investigate the clinical efficacy of TRQI for the treatment of lung infection secondary to ICH.

Acupuncture has been widely employed for PSA. There is some evidence for the immediate treatment efficacy of acupuncture for PSA; however, long-term results after acupuncture may be poorer.

The main component of XST is Panax notoginseng saponins (PNS), which is the main extract of the Chinese herbal medicine Panax notoginseng.
Aim Of The Study: In this study, we investigated whether XST provided long-term neuroprotection by inhibiting neurite outgrowth inhibitor-A (Nogo-A) and the ROCKII pathway in experimental rats after middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) and in SH-SY5Y cells exposed to oxygen-glucose deprivation/reperfusion (OGD/R).
Early hematoma expansion (HE) occurs in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) within the first few hours from ICH onset. Hematoma expansion has been considered as an independent predictor of poor clinical outcome and mortality after ICH. Island sign (IS) on the non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) appears to increase the rate of detection of HE.
