Introduction: Despite improvements in chemotherapy and molecularly targeted therapies, the life expectancy of patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains less than 1 year. There is thus a major global need to advance new treatment strategies that are more effective for NSCLC. Drug delivery using liposomal particles has shown success at improving the biodistribution and bioavailability of chemotherapy.

Methods: Forty-four healthy, weight-stable volunteers (30 male and 14 female; mean [SD], age 39.3 [11.
Introduction: Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) has been popular worldwide to treat laterally spreading tumors and large polyps. Post-ESD coagulation syndrome (PECS) is more common than the two major ESD-related complications, perforation, and bleeding. The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of PECS, identify the risk factors for PECS, and create a risk prediction model for PECS.

Lignocellulose pretreated using pyrolysis can yield clean energy (such as bioethanol) via microbial fermentation, which can significantly contribute to waste recycling, environmental protection, and energy security. However, the acids, aldehydes, and phenols present in bio-oil with inhibitory effects on microorganisms compromise the downstream utilization and conversion of lignocellulosic pyrolysates. In this study, we constructed a microbial electrolysis cell system for bio-oil detoxification and efficient ethanol production using evolved Escherichia coli to overcome the bioethanol production and utilization challenges highlighted in previous studies.

This study analyzed the association of class II HLA eplet mismatches and maintenance immunosuppression with allosensitization after graft failure in a well characterized cohort of 21 patients who failed a first kidney transplant. A clinically meaningful increase in cPRA in this study was defined as the cPRA that resulted in 50% reduction in the compatible donor pool measured from the time of transplant failure until the time of repeat transplantation, death, or end of study.

Consequently, there remains an urgent unmet need to develop novel therapeutic strategies that can effectively inhibit pro-oncogenic molecular targets underpinning PDACs pathogenesis and progression. One such target is c-RAF, a downstream effector of RAS that is considered essential for the oncogenic growth and survival of mutant RAS-driven cancers (including KRAS PDAC).

Methods: Bioinformatics analysis was performed using R software, including differential gene expression and clinical correlation analysis, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and Kaplan-Meier (KM) curve generation. Gene expression was detected using RT-qPCR, and protein expression was validated using Western Blot.
Introduction: Vertebral body tethering (VBT) has become an alternative option for select patients with idiopathic scoliosis. However, studies have shown a high number of tether breakages, specifically after thoracolumbar (TL) VBT, that can have a negative impact on the outcome, when the breakage occurs within the first year after surgery. In order to overcome this problem, we have started to apply an apical fusion (AF) in combination with TL VBT for select patients.

Methods: Retrospective analysis of 38 MWAs of therapy-naïve liver tumours performed with the NeuWave PR probe. Ablations were performed either in the 'standard mode' (65 W, 10 min) or in the 'surgical mode' (95 W, 1 min, then 65 W, 10 min).
Advancements in non-ionizing methods for quantifying spinal deformities are crucial for assessing and monitoring scoliosis. In this study, we analyzed the observer variability of a newly developed digital tool for quantifying body asymmetry from clinical photographs. Prospective observational multicenter study.

This study aims to evaluate hidden blood loss (HBL) in patients who underwent OLIF for degenerative lumbar spine disease and to analyze its risk factors. (2) The medical records of 179 patients who underwent OLIF surgery from 2015 to 2022 were reviewed.

This study aimed to investigate the differences in water and collagen contents in tibial cortical bone, between female osteopenia (OPe) patients, osteoporosis (OPo) patients, and young participants (Young). Being postmenopausal and above 55 yr old were the inclusion criteria for OPe and OPo groups.

Rezvilutamide, a new androgen receptor antagonist from China, has shown early promise; however, its real-world effectiveness and safety profile require further evidence. This case series evaluates the preliminary clinical outcomes of rezvilutamide in combination with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), focusing on PSA response and radiological findings across various stages of prostate cancer in four patients.

Accumulating evidence has suggested that mA methylation may be involved in the pathological process of major depressive disorder (MDD), a common neuropsychiatric disorder with an unclear aetiology. Here, we found that the levels of the circular RNA HECW2 (circHECW2) were significantly increased in the plasma of both MDD patients and the chronic unpredictable stress (CUS) mouse model.

Objective: To report long-term outcomes of MDT alone versus MDT and a defined course of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) in omCSPC.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) therapies are ineffective in at least 40% patients, and transcriptomic datasets have been widely used to reveal the pathogenesis and to identify the novel drug targets for these patients. Although public IBD transcriptomic datasets are available from many web-based tools/databases, due to the unstructured metadata and data description of these public datasets, most of these tools/databases do not allow querying datasets based on multiple keywords (e.g.
