Breast Cancer in India: Screening, Detection, and Management.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in urban Indian women and the second most common cancer in all Indian women. The epidemiology as well as biology of this cancer seems to be different in the Indian subcontinent when compared with the West. The lack of population-based breast cancer screening programs and delay in seeking a medical consult due to financial and social reasons, including lack of awareness and fear related to a cancer diagnosis, results in delayed diagnosis.

Immune thrombocytopaenic purpura (ITP) is often a diagnosis of exclusion with presentations ranging widely from asymptomatic patients to those with life-threatening bleeding. Secondary ITP following vaccination is relatively uncommon and underdiagnosed as majority of patients remain asymptomatic. Cases of severe thrombocytopaenia associated with SARS-CoV-2 messenger RNA (ribonucleic acid) vaccinations have been described previously, mostly as isolated occurrences, and typically occurring following the first dose.
