Ewing's sarcoma (ES) is a malignant small round cell neuroectodermal tumour primarily affecting children in the first and second decade of life. Since ES is difficult to control, early diagnosis is crucial, and the treatment requires a multimodality approach constituting chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy. Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the esophagus, a mixed tumor comprising both carcinomatous and sarcomatoid components and known as carcinosarcoma, is a rare malignancy. We investigate the spectral fluctuations and electronic transport properties of chaotic mesoscopic cavities using Kwant, an open source Python programming language based package. Discretized chaotic billiard systems are used to model these mesoscopic cavities. For the spectral fluctuations, we study the ratio of consecutive eigenvalue spacings, and for the transport properties, we focus on Landauer conductance and shot noise power.

Despite guidelines recommending annual low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening for lung cancer, uptake remains low due to the perceived complexity of initiating and maintaining a clinical program-problems that likely magnify in underserved populations. We conducted a survey of community providers at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in Santa Clara County, California, to evaluate provider-related factors that affect adherence. We then compared these findings to academic providers' (APs) LDCT screening knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes at an academic referral center in the same county.

Compensatory or 'catch-up' growth may be an adaptive mechanism that buffers the growth trajectory of young organisms from deviations caused by reduced food availability. Theory generally assumes that rapid juvenile compensatory growth impacts reproduction only through its positive effects on age and size at maturation, but potential reproductive costs to juvenile compensatory growth remain virtually unexplored. Administration of the cold pressor test (I test) in normal healthy subjects revealed lateralization of pain perception with the right hand showing higher threshold and tolerance, as well as lower pain scores on Graphic Rating Scale, PPI and MPQ. To find out whether this lateralization persists, the cold pressor test was given while the contralateral hand was simultaneously exposed to non-noxious stimulus (II test) or noxious stimulus (III test). Reversal of laterality to the left hand was observed in the III test in 40% of the subjects for pain threshold.
