There is a lack of consensus in the literature regarding optimal treatment methods for Lisfranc injuries, and recent literature has emphasized the need to compare open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) with primary arthrodesis (PA). The purpose of the current study is to compare reoperation and complication rates between ORIF and PA following Lisfranc injury in a private, outpatient, orthopaedic practice. A retrospective chart review was performed on patients undergoing operative intervention for Lisfranc injury between January 2009 and September 2015.

Tendinopathy in the presence of gouty arthropathy is relatively common, yet the clinical suspicion for gout involvement in acute tendon pain remains low. A 49-year-old man presented with an acute, tender, erythematous mass to the right posterior heel. A computed tomographic scan was obtained, which revealed a septated fluid collection superficial to the Achilles tendon.

Unlabelled: Charcot fracture pattern (FP) and Charcot dislocation pattern (DP) are 2 distinct collapse patterns identified in Charcot neuroarthropathy of the foot and ankle. These patterns are believed to demonstrate relative differences in central bone mineral density (BMD), which has been theoretically extrapolated to describe local BMD. To assess variation in local bone composition of FP and DP patients, 10 patients, 5 DP and 5 FP were recruited.
