Multifactorial Nature of Fatigue in North Indian Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients.

Introduction: Fatigue is a common, disabling, and poorly understood aspect of Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) treatment. Better understanding of fatigue is required for holistic treatment of RA. The present study was conducted to evaluate factors (disease activity, pain, sleep quality, and vitamin D) contributing to fatigue in RA.

Otolaryngologic Manifestations of Various Rheumatic Diseases: Awareness and Practice Among Otolaryngologists.

Wegener's granulomatosis, Sarcoidosis, Sjögren's Syndrome, Behçet disease, Systemic lupus erythematosus, relapsing polychondritis, Churg-Strauss syndrome and Cogan syndromes are rheumatic diseases commonly encountered by otolaryngologists. The present study was designed to assess the understanding and practice about various ENT problems of rheumatic diseases amongst otolaryngologists. A group of 29 otolaryngologists was asked to fill questionnaire which was based on knowledge and practice of otolaryngologists about various otolaryngologic manifestations of rheumatic diseases.

Isolated mediastinal tuberculosis: a rare entity.

Tuberculosis is a common disease in India but isolated mediastinal tuberculosis in the form of a tumor has not been described in adults. We are presenting an immunocompetent, elderly male who presented with fever for 2 months. CT scan chest revealed an isolated mass like lesion in the mediastinum, extending to supraclavicular area.

Awareness of neurocysticercosis: A study from northwest India.

Background: Neurocysticercosis (NCC) is a common cause of epilepsy in developing countries. In order to plan and implement prevention programs, it is essential to study the awareness of NCC.

Objective: To study the awareness of NCC among patients with NCC and compare with age- and gender-matched controls without NCC.

Vivax-induced ARDS: report of two cases.

Plasmodium vivax is known for its benign nature but now recognition of life threatening complications related to this infection is on rise. We report two cases of Plasmodium vivax malaria complicated by ARDS. Patients were treated with Artesunate, followed by Sulfadoxin Pyerimethamin combination.
