Prcis: The severity of central visual field (VF) defects on 24-2 VF and related scotomas on 10-2 VF may be predicted by assessing perimetric defects at abnormal central 12 points on 24-2 VF in early glaucoma.
Purpose: Investigating the association between perimetric parameters at abnormal central 12 points on 24-2 VF and the severity of central visual field defects (CVFDs) on 24-2 VF and related parafoveal scotomas on 10-2 VF.
Methods: We examined 64 eyes of 56 glaucoma patients with CVFDs on 24-2 VF with a mean deviation better than -7 dB and completed 24-2 and 10-2 VF testing within 6 months.
Precis: Moderate to substantial agreement between 10-2 and 24-2C perimetry for detecting central field defects suggests that adding central test points to the 24-2 protocol may improve efficiency of visual field (VF) testing for glaucoma management.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess agreement between Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer 10-2 and 24-2C test protocols for detecting glaucomatous defects in the central 10 degrees of the visual field (CVFDs).
Materials And Methods: VFs from 165 eyes of 18 healthy individuals, 12 glaucoma suspects and 62 glaucoma patients who completed 10-2 and 24-2C VF testing protocols within 6 months were included.
Prcis: This study demonstrates the substantial association between visual field (VF) defect within the central-most 4 points in 24-2 VF and the VF defect exhibited by 10-2 test pattern relative to the initial defect in 24-2 VF.
Purpose: To evaluate the significance of central-most visual field defects (CMVFDs) in 24-2 VF in early glaucoma.
Methods: This cross-sectional study examined 29 eyes of 28 glaucoma patients with CMVFDs.
Purpose: To evaluate the association of socioeconomic status (SES) with severity of glaucoma and assess the impacts of both SES and disease-severity factors on the costs of glaucoma medications among different glaucoma subtypes in West Bengal, India.
Methods: This cross-sectional study (2014-16) followed the treatment of 304 primary glaucoma patients for at least 18 months. The visual field based glaucoma staging was followed for stages 0-3; patients with field of vision <10° were categorized as stage 4 (end stage).
Purpose: The aims of the study were (1) to stage early glaucomatous field defects following Hodapp-Parrish-Anderson (HPA) criteria in an ocular hypertension (OH) cohort with 7-year follow-up and (2) to recognize the limitation(s) of this staging system.
Design: A retrospective review of subjects with OH.
Methods: A retrospective review of the visual fields of 183 OH subjects was conducted.
'Overlap syndrome' describes the situation in which two or more 'independent' conditions are present, either one of which could cause a particular finding. This current presentation reports a case with bilateral pigment dispersion syndrome (PDS), advanced pigmentary glaucoma (PG), and the Marfan syndrome, with bilateral subluxation of the lenses, and large short-term and long-term fluctuations of intraocular pressure. It is interesting to consider whether the associated advanced glaucomatous nerve damage could be a manifestation of just the PDS, just the Marfan syndrome, or rather a combination of these two overlapping independent conditions.

In myopic eyes, the axial length is usually longer than average and the anterior chamber is usually deep; PAC is rarely observed in these eyes. In a retrospective chart review of 322 cases of PAC, 6 cases occurred in myopic eyes.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA sudden outbreak of hepatitis occurred in a micro-epidemic form, amongst the staff members of the School of Tropical Medicine, Calcutta, during May-June, 1995. A total of 21 persons developed jaundice, out of whom 11 members who attended the Virology Department and were tested for detection of different serological markers of hepatitis by ELISA. All the sera (N = 11) showed evidence of non-A, non-B infection by process of exclusion and 9 of the above sera showed evidence of anti-HEV when tested specifically.
