Background: The present study examined EEG microstate alterations and their neural generators during resting state in children with ADHD to explore a potential state biomarker.

Methods: A total of seventy-six participants, thirty-eight each, combined type ADHD, and neurotypical children (NC) participated in the study. Five-minute resting (eyes open) 128 channel eeg data were acquired and two-minute clean EEG data were analyzed for microstates, its sources and connectivity in both the groups.

Background: Sustained activation of default mode network has been implicated for momentary lapses of attention and higher errors during performance of cognitive tasks in attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) children. Despite emerging evidence indicating the genetic basis of ADHD, there is paucity of literature investigating the alteration of DMN in children with ADHD and their unaffected siblings.

Aim: To study the cortical sources of DMN in children with ADHD compared to their siblings and neurotypical controls.

Background: Aberrance in switching from default mode network (DMN) to fronto-parietal network (FPN) is proposed to underlie working memory deficits in subjects with substance use disorders, which can be studied using neuro-imaging techniques during cognitive tasks. The current study used EEG to investigate pre-stimulus microstates during the performance of Sternberg's working memory task in subjects with substance use disorders.

Methods: 128-channel EEG was acquired and processed in ten age and gender-matched subjects, each with alcohol use disorder, opioid use disorder, and controls while they performed Sternberg's task.
