- The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of albendazole and mebendazole in treating Ascaris lumbricoides infections among primary school children in North-Western Indonesia.
- A total of 229 infected children were given either 400 mg of albendazole or 500 mg of mebendazole, and stool samples were analyzed for cure and egg reduction rates after one week.
- Results indicated that while both medications were effective, with no drug resistance detected, albendazole was slightly more effective in sterilizing A. lumbricoides eggs compared to mebendazole.
