Auto-concentrated growth factor (CGF) constitutes the latest generation of plasma extract, and has high concentrations of growth factors and white blood cells. Due to the continuous variable speed centrifugation used during preparation, the tensile strength of the fibrin is also higher. CGF preparation does not involve the use of animal serum, minimizing the risk of infection and immune rejection.

We find that age profiles in mental health differ significantly between migrant and native populations. Our analysis of second-generation migrants supports the 'healthy migrant paradox', suggesting favourable mental health outcomes.

Participants: A retrospective analysis was conducted at a tertiary teaching hospital, including 360 patients who underwent emergency colectomy with end stoma between 2013 and 2023.
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is known to be driven by multiple intricated receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) including EGFR, PI3K/AKT and MAPK signaling pathways. However, whilst targeting EGFR with cetuximab has been approved for the treatment of OSCC, other single-agent inhibitors of the RTKs have shown modest effects in improving survival. From the genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 screen on 21 OSCC cell lines, we have identified among the top essential genes in OSCC.

Our study discovers the biomarker and cell death mechanisms underpinning sensitivity toward AZD5582, an antagonist of the inhibitor of apoptosis family protein. Our findings have important implications for improving future trial design for patients with OSCC using this emerging drug class.

Utilizing a sample of 269 cases from the Homicide Investigation Tracking System database an in-depth analysis was conducted to unveil the factors contributing to the delay in the discovery of victims' bodies. The methodological approach involves applying a negative binomial regression analysis, which allows for the examination of count data, specifically addressing the over-dispersion and excess zeros in the dependent variable - the number of days until the victim is found.
