Bacteriological aspects of chronic osteoarticular infections in adults: the influence of the osteosynthesis material.

Background: The aim of this study is to establish the bacterial epidemiology of chronic osteoarticular infections in adults, to study the susceptibility of the isolated strains to antibiotics and to demonstrate the influence of osteosynthesis material thereon.

Patients And Methods: This is a retrospective study of 78 months, from January 2006 to June 2012, providing bacteriological samples from patients with osteitis and osteoarthritis in the Mohammed V military teaching hospital of Rabat. Isolation and identification of bacteria were made by bacteriological classical techniques.

Osteoid osteoma of the acetabular roof: a case report.

Background: An acetabular location of osteoid osteoma is rare and represents less than 1 % of cases. The purpose of this clinical case report is to highlight the unusual location of osteoid osteoma and the technical difficulty of its removal.

Case Presentation: We report a case of a 17-year-old Moroccan Arab boy who presented with pain in his right hip with lameness.

Diabetic Foot Infection in Morocco: Microbiological Profile.

Objective: The objective of this work is to describe the microbiology of diabetic foot infections (DFIs).

Materials And Methods: The authors included all samples of infected diabetic foot ulcers between January 2009 and June 2014 at the Mohammed Vth Military Teaching Hospital of Rabat, Morocco.

Results: The researchers collected 199 samples corresponding to 157 patients.

Intraosseous lipoma of the calcaneus: report of a case and review of the literature.

Intraosseous lipoma is a rare, benign primary tumor occurring in bone. In the present report, a case of an intraosseous lipoma of the calcaneus is presented, together with a focused review of published studies. Radiographically, the lesions will appear osteolytic and well delineated, displaying a central area of calcification.

[Bacteriological aspects of osteitis in a university hospital].

Introduction: The aim, of our retrospective study, was to determine the epidemiological and susceptibility profile of bacterial osteitis isolates in the Rabat Mohammed V Military Hospital, to optimize the probabilistic antibiotherapy.

Materials And Methods: A study was made from August 2004 to December 2005. All the positive specimen for the etiologic diagnosis of osteitis and osteoarthritis were included.

[Intramedullary stabilisation of hematometacarpal fracture-dislocation. A case report].

We report a case of a dorsal coronal fracture of the hamate associated with an unstable hematometacarpal dislocation in a 15 year old patient. An accurate assessment was done only after a 3D-CT was performed. Open reduction and intramedullary fixation yielded a very good result.

[Neglected spontaneous bilateral rupture of the patellar tendon: a case report].

A patient taking corticosteroids for rheumatoid arthritis experienced a spontaneous bilateral rupture of the patellar tendon. Initially neglected, the rupture was repaired surgically by tendinoplasty using the semitendinous tendon for the right knee and inversion of the quadriceps tendon for the left. Functional results were similar.
