The molten-salt-mediated oxidative dehydrogenation (MM-ODH) of ethane (CH) via a chemical looping scheme represents an effective carbon capture and utilization (CCU) method for the valorization of ethane-rich shale gas and concurrent mitigation of carbon dioxide (CO) emissions. Here, stepwise experimentation with LiCO-NaCO-KCO (LNK) ternary salts (i) assessed how each component of the LNK mixture impacted ethane MM-ODH performance and (ii) explored physicochemical and thermodynamic mechanisms behind melt-induced changes to ethylene (CH) and carbon monoxide (CO) yields. Of fifteen screened LNK compositions, nine exhibited ethylene yields greater than 50 % at 800 °C while maintaining CH selectivities of 85 % or higher.

However, this marker has not been adequately investigated in primary thymic neuroendocrine tumors. We have studied a series of 27 cases of primary neuroendocrine carcinomas of the thymus, including 3 typical carcinoids, 18 atypical carcinoids, 4 large cell neuroendocrine carcinomas, and 2 small cell carcinomas.

LEC commonly presents in the parotid and submandibular glands and rarely in the sublingual gland. While salivary gland LEC has a predilection for Inuit-Yupik and Chinese populations, few cases have been reported in the Hispanic population and none for sublingual glands in the English language literature.

These properties enable LMFs to be patterned into soft and stretchable electrical and thermal conductors through processes conducted at room temperature, such as printing. The simplest LMFs, featured in this work, are made by stirring LM in air, thereby entraining oxide-lined air "pockets" into the LM.

However, the preparation of a metal nanoparticle catalyst supported on a metal oxide support is time-consuming and takes multiple complicated steps. Herein, we used a one-step glycine-nitrate-based combustion method to synthesize highly dispersed rhodium nanoparticles on a high surface area HEO.

The purpose of this study was to investigate factors in treatment history associated with outcomes of surgical repair for diabetic tractional retinal detachments.
Methods: A retrospective, cohort study design was used.
Background: Specific learning disorder (SLD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impairment in reading, written expression, and arithmetic. It can be identified during early school days itself. There is a lack of a screening tool for SLD that is properly validated and easy to administer.

The government provides several educational and social benefits to students with SLD, hence, an accurate assessment of the prevalence of SLD is important. This study is an attempt to find the prevalence of SLD and its determinants among the school-going children in Ernakulam district, Kerala, India.

Despite its significance, social decision making in schizophrenia (SCZ) has not been adequately examined. Hence, we examined social decision making in SCZ using the Ultimatum Game(UG), a neuroeconomic paradigm that involves financial transactions between a proposer and a responder to split a sum of money between them.

Several studies suggest that cultural factors influence cognitive insight and the processes involved therein; a few studies have suggested differences between Western and Asian societies. However, there are no studies on cognitive insight and its neural correlates in non-Western populations.

Materials And Methods: In this prospective, cross-sectional study of 146 adolescents, re-cruited six rural and urban schools, the newly developed TSQ-M as the measure for validation and General Health Questionnaire-12 item (GHQ-12) as the gold standard measure were administered by independent trained raters. Tests for diagnostic accuracy and validity were conducted.
A rice-shaped TiO2-ZnO composite was prepared by electrospinning a mixture comprising the precursors of TiO2 and ZnO in polyvinyl acetate polymer dissolved in N,N-dimethyl acetamide. The electrospun nanofibers upon heat treatment in air resulted in collapse of the continuous fiber morphology and the formation of the rice-shaped TiO2-ZnO composite. The TiO2-ZnO composite was then treated with dilute acetic acid under hydrothermal conditions to etch ZnO from the TiO2-ZnO composite to get coral-shaped anisotropic TiO2.

Settings And Design: Cross-sectional study of outpatients.
Materials And Methods: Patients in the remission phase of the illness were taken for the study.
Objective: To study the menstrual problems and menstrual hygiene practices of adolescent girls in Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation.
Methods: Students of class XI and XII in the age group 15-19 years, belonging to ten Higher Secondary Schools within the Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation area were selected for the study by multistage sampling procedure and screened using a pretested self evaluation questionnaire.
Results: Menstrual disorders were reported in 21.
Objective: Adolescents can have mental, emotional, and behavior problems that are a source of stress for the child as well as the family, school and community. These may disrupt the adolescent's ability to function normally. Adolescents also have reproductive concerns especially at menarche.

Methods And Materials: From 1977 to 1983, 141 patients were treated with whole breast radiotherapy followed by iridium-192 boost after breast-conserving surgery.
The study was conducted to compare growth status, blood pressure, self esteem and intelligence of 200 low birthweight (LBW) and 224 normal birthweight (NBW) adolescents at 13 years of age. Intelligence scores at or below the 25th percentile (low performance) were observed among 51.4% LBW and 41.

Associations between low birthweight and disease in later life have been widely studied in Europe and the USA. Studies in southern India have shown that babies who are short and fat tend to become insulin deficient and have high rates of non-insulin dependent diabetes.

Methods: Comparative cross sectional analysis of two groups of cohorts followed-up at 1 year and 16 years of age at Child Development Centre (CDC), Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram. 189 LBW babies formed the study group and 213 NBW babies formed the comparison group.
Evidence suggests that, as development ensues, the competence of neural progenitors is progressively altered, such that they become fated to give rise to neurons of a particular stage. Here, we demonstrate that late retinal progenitors can give rise to retinal ganglion cells (RGCs), an example of an early-born cell type in the retina. A subset of late retinal progenitors in vitro responds to cues that favor RGC differentiation by displaying markers characteristic of RGCs.

To test the hypothesis that injury promotes cell incorporation, stem cells/progenitors were isolated from the retina, ciliary epithelium or limbal epithelium and transplanted into the eyes of rats with retinal injury. Different stem cell/progenitor populations incorporated into traumatized or diseased retina but not into the normal retina.

Introduction: The fit of the denture base to the alveolar ridge progressively declines with alveolar ridge resorption. Once a denture becomes ill-fitting there are two main treatment options: to construct a new denture or to restore the fit of the existing denture. A denture may be relined as a laboratory procedure or at the chairside in the dental clinic.

Purpose: Previous studies reported reduced aqueous humor flow through the anterior segment of the eye in patients with type 1 diabetes. This study investigates whether reduced flow is the result of the diabetic state or of alterations in glucose or insulin concentrations.
Methods: A cross-sectional study, involving patients with type 1 diabetes and healthy controls, measured aqueous flow at different insulin concentrations.
