In this study, an efficient synthesis and the antimicrobial activity evaluation of some 4-oxo-thiazolidin-2-ylidene derivatives are presented. The structures of the target substances were confirmed by using H and C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, infrared spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for antimicrobial activity against five bacterial strains (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus) and two fungal strains (Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans).

The synthesis, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of novel 5-hydroxy-7-methyl-3H-thiazolo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-one derivatives were discussed. Fused thiazolo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-ones were synthesized and modified at the N3, C5 and C6 positions of the main core in order to obtain the compounds with a satisfactory pharmacological profile. The synthesized compounds were preselected via molecular docking for further testing of their anti-inflammatory activity in vitro.

The paper presents a new azolidone derivative - 5-[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)hydrazineylidene]-4-iminothiazolidin-2-one (HPIT) studies and its interaction results with iridium(IV) ions. The Ir(IV) with this reagent in the pH = 5.0 without heating forms a stable complex (?max = 328 nm).

The interaction of Ru(IV) ions with a novel analytical reagent - 5-hydroxyimino-4-imino-1,3-thiazolidin-2-one, by spectrophotometric method was investigated. The complex is formed at pH 5.0 in acetate buffer medium after heating in the boiling water bath (~371 K) for 25 min.

5-Hydroxy-7-methyl-3H-thiazolo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-one was obtained by the reaction of 4-iminothiazolidin-2-one with acetoacetic ester. Further structural modifications include the introduction of diversity at the C5 and C6 positions. The anti-inflammatory action of novel thiazolo[4,5-b]pyridine-2-one derivatives was evaluated in vivo employing the carrageenan- induced rat paw edema method.

The spectrophotometric behavior of a new, first-time synthesized reagent - 4-[N'-(4-imino-2-oxo-thiazolidin-5-ylidene)hydrazino]-benzenesulfonic acid (ITHBA), has been investigated. A simple, rapid, accurate, selective and sensitive method for the spectrophotometric determination of Pd(II) ions using this reagent was developed. The optimal conditions for the formation of the complexes were found.

A study was made of the vegetative parameters associated with the cardiac rhythm and central hemodynamics in 60 patients with myocardial infarction. In 45 patients the time course of the urinary excretion of catecholamines was examined. Regulation of cardiovascular system in patients with myocardial infarction in different time spells of the disease course was studied in relation to the particular features of the clinical picture and presence of complications.

The mental status was evaluated in 179 males on the 17-20 and 35-45 days and 6 months after myocardial infarction. The psychoemotional state was studied in these patients at rehabilitation stages. There was a relationship between the neurotization level and frequency of cardialgia, severity of the disease and tolerance to physical load.
