Redox-active metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have already demonstrated their unique advantages in the field of electrochromism over the past decade. However, controlling and modulating the electrochromic behaviors in specific MOFs remains a significant challenge, as most of the cases reported so far are achieved by designing and constructing new MOFs. Herein, we design a redox-active Zr-MOF with coordination unsaturated pockets, termed NKM-908, based on a naphthalene diimide containing tetratopic carboxylate ligand.

Background: The incidence of chronic wounds is rising due to an aging population and lifestyle changes in our country. In addition, as the disease spectrum evolves, chronic wounds have become common clinical issues that seriously threaten health and impose significant social and economic burdens.

Aim: To investigate how depression, anxiety, peripheral blood inflammatory factors, and stress levels affect therapeutic outcomes in patients with chronic wounds.

Precise adjusting the band gaps in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is crucial for improving their visible-light absorption capacity during photocatalysis, presenting both a formidable challenge and a charming opportunity. This present study employed a symmetry-reduction strategy to pre-design six novel 4-connected ligands with systematic substituents (-NO, -H, -Bu, -OCH, -OH and -NH) and synthesized the corresponding pillared-layer Zr-MOFs (NKM-668) retaining the hexaphenylbenzene fragment. Subsequently, the NKM-668 MOFs were transformed into large-π-conjugated hexabenzocoronene-based MOFs (pNKM-668) via the Scholl reaction.

Metallic nickel (Ni) is a promising candidate to substitute Pt-based catalysts for hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR), but huge challenges still exist in precise modulation of the electronic structure to boost the electrocatalytic performances. Herein, we present the use of single-layer TiCT MXene to deliberately tailor the electronic structure of Ni nanoparticles via interfacial oxygen bridges, which affords Ni/TiCT electrocatalyst with exceptional performances for HOR in an alkaline medium. Remarkably, it shows a high kinetic current of 16.

This longitudinal study made the first attempt to employ Latent Growth Curve Modeling to analyze the development of L2 speaking accuracy and fluency through online scaffolding as well as the dynamic relationship between L2 speaking performance and self-efficacy. From the perspective of Complex Dynamic Systems Theory, it tracked the development of 45 Chinese undergraduates' English-speaking accuracy, fluency, self-efficacy for accuracy (SEA) and self-efficacy for fluency (SEF) over one semester of online teaching (six observations). Results show that speaking accuracy, SEA and SEF all improved significantly, but speaking fluency did not; these four variables all developed in non-linear trajectories, and the greatest growth of accuracy, SEA and SEF all took place at Time 2; there existed significant individual differences in the initial levels of fluency, SEA and SEF, and in the change rates of SEA; a higher initial level of accuracy was related to a greater increase in SEA and a greater decrease in growth rates with time.

The active-site density, intrinsic activity, and durability of Ni-based catalysts are critical to their application in industrial alkaline water electrolysis. This work develops a kind of promoters, the bixbyite-type lanthanide metal sesquioxides (LnO), which can be implanted into metallic Ni by selective high-temperature reduction to achieve highly efficient Ni/LnO hybrid electrocatalysts toward hydrogen evolution reaction. The screened Ni/YbO catalyst shows the low overpotential (20.

AgBiS nanocrystals are a promising nontoxic alternative to PbS, CsPbI, and CdS quantum dots for solution-fabricated nanocrystal photovoltaics. In this work, we fabricated the first inverted (p-i-n) structure AgBiS nanocrystal solar cells. We selected spray-coated NiO as the hole-transporting material and used PCBM/BCP as the electron-transporting material.

Solvent engineering and antisolvent methods have been used extensively to achieve high-quality, homogeneous, and crystalline perovskite thin films. Usually, highly concentrated (>1.1 M) precursor solutions are used to achieve the maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE), and most fabrication studies focus on iodide-based metal halide perovskites (MHPs).

This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of long non-coding RNA KCNQ1OT1 against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury following acute myocardial infarction, as well as its regulatory mechanism. We used the cardiac muscle H9c2 cells under condition of oxygen glucose deprivation followed by reperfusion (OGD/R) to induce myocardial I/R injury. Then H9C2 cells were transfected with si-NC, si-KCNQ1OT1, pc-NC, pc-KCNQ1OT1, si-AdipoR1 and si-AdipoR2, respectively.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the association of four single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (MTHFR 677 C > T, MTHFR 1298 A > C, MTR 2756 A > G and MTRR 66 A > G), gene-gene interaction and haplotype combination with pulmonary embolism (PE) risk based on Chinese Han population. Logistic regression was performed to investigate association between four SNPs within folate metabolism gene and PE risk, and GMDR model was used to investigate the additional gene-gene interactions among the four SNPs. Logistic analysis showed that rs1801133 and rs1801131 in MTHFR gene were associated with increased PE risk in both additive and dominant models.

Objective: Resveratrol, a polyphenol of natural compounds, has beneficial cardiovascular effects, many of which are mediated by nitric oxide (NO). Resveratrol increases intracellular calcium and activates AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), all of which could increase NO production. We hypothesized that resveratrol via a calcium-dependent NO production lowers blood pressure (BP) in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR).

Background: Previous studies have documented that obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) increases the incidence of hypertension, respiratory failure and unexpected post-operative deaths during night in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) patients. We hypothesized that continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) reduces blood pressure in these patients.

Methods: We conducted a prospective, controlled study in 51 patients.
