The electron spin correlation is shown to be expressible in terms of a bona fide probability distribution function with an associated geometric representation. With this aim, an analysis is presented of the probabilistic features of the spin correlation within the quantum formalism, which helps clarify the concepts of contextuality and measurement dependence. The dependence of the spin correlation on probabilities allows for a clear separation between system state and measurement context; the latter determines how the probability space should be partitioned in calculating the correlation.

The objective of this study was to understand the effect buprenorphine rotations have on respiratory risk and other safety outcomes. This was a retrospective observational study evaluating Veterans who underwent an opioid rotation from full-agonist opioids to buprenorphine products or to alternative opioids. The primary endpoint was change in the Risk Index for Overdose or Serious Opioid-induced Respiratory Depression (RIOSORD) score from baseline to six months post-rotation.

This paper provides elements in support of the random zero-point radiation field (zpf) as an essential ontological ingredient needed to explain distinctive properties of quantum-mechanical systems. We show that when an otherwise classical particle is connected to the zpf, a drastic, qualitative change in the dynamics takes place, leading eventually to the quantum dynamics. In particular, we demonstrate that in parallel with the evolution of the canonical variables of the particle into quantum operators satisfying the basic commutator x^,p^=iℏ, also the field canonical variables are transformed, giving rise to the corresponding creation and annihilation operators a^†,a^, satisfying a^,a^†=1.

Low solubility in aqueous solutions is a significant limitation of the otherwise promising anticancer ruthenium complex KP1019. In laboratory studies, this challenge is often overcome by using DMSO to help drive the drug into solution. Since DMSO was previously shown to alter the bioactivity of platinum-based chemotherapeutics, here we examine DMSO's effects on KP1019.

Equisetum myriochaetum is a Mexican plant used in folk medicine to treat kidney diseases and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The main constituents of the phytoextract are flavonol glycosides (kaempferol), phytoesterols and carbohydrates. In this study, phytotherapeutic extracts from Equisetum myriochaetum were investigated for genotoxicity in the in vivo wing spot test in Drosophila melanogaster and in the in vitro human micronucleus test.
