Background: It is important to identify patients that are at high risk following primary percutaneous coronary intervention (P-PCI) for the treatment of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) is the most important parameter obtained from transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) for risk stratification. The authors evaluated the value of pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) and left atrial volume index (LAVI) for the prediction of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients with STEMI that underwent P‑PCI.

In addition, we also aimed at investigating the effects of age, gender, body mass index (BMI), and bone mineral density on cement penetration.
Methods: One hundred seventy patients who underwent TKA for primary osteoarthritis were retrospectively evaluated.
Introduction And Purpose: The Urinary Neutrophil-gelatinase associated lipocalin (NGAL) levels which are a biomarker for early diagnosis of kidney damage that may develop in patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) were investigated in the study.
Material And Methods: The 30 patients diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome between the ages of 13 and 18 who applied to the Yuzuncu Yil University General Children's Outpatient Clinic were included in the PCOS group and 30 healthy adolescents without any known acute or chronic illness and drug use were included in the control group.
Findings: Urine NGAL value was 842.
Autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT), supported by high-dose chemotherapy, is the prevalent option for multiple myeloma (MM) treatment in candidates suitable for transplantation. Although granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) supported cyclophosphamide (CY) is used as the pre-ASCT mobilization regimen, there is no consensus on the optimal dosage of CY. Thus, in this study, we examined the results of 47 MM patients, who underwent ASCT after mobilization with intermediate (ID) or low-dose (LD) CY treatment supported with G-CSF.

MSE has been successfully applied in the literature when measuring autism traits, Alzheimer's, and schizophrenia. However, until now, there has been no research on MSE applied to children with dyslexia.

Material And Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of 321 women, including 252 healthy pregnant and 69 healthy nonpregnant women. Assessment of female sexual function index (FSFI), ARIZONA scores of their partners were compared in relation to some of the sociodemographic characteristics and pregnancy trimesters.
Background: The evaluation of thromboembolic risk is the cornerstone of atrial fibrillation (AF) management. Thromboembolic risk is associated with the presence of left atrial (LA) thrombus and spontaneous echo contrast (SEC), namely the thromboembolic milieu.
Aims: We aimed to assess the predictors of the thromboembolic milieu in terms of LA thrombus and/ or SEC in patients with paroxysmal AF undergoing electrical cardioversion or catheter ablation, and to develop an effective risk model for detecting the thromboembolic milieu.
Background: Recent studies demonstrated that epicardial fat tissue (EFT) was associated with prevalent AF and recurrences following the catheter ablation. We evaluated the value of EFT for the prediction of advanced interatrial block (a-IAB) in the surface electrocardiography (ECG) among hypertensive patients.
Methods: Patients with prior diagnosis of hypertension (HT) were included in the study.
Aim: Preeclampsia is one of the major causes of perinatal, fetal, and maternal mortality and morbidity. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of serum interleukin 37 (IL 37) with preeclampsia.
Methods: 39 women with preeclampsia were included as the study group.
Objectives: Previous studies showed that subclinical abnormal left atrial (LA) function could be diagnosed with LA speckle tracking evaluation long before chamber enlargement. Osteoprotegerin (OPG) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor superfamily and was recently found to be an indicator for adverse cardiovascular outcomes and a risk factor for new onset atrial fibrillation. The authors hypothesized that OPG values could predict LA mechanical dysfunction and LA remodeling assessed by two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (2D-STE) in patients with hypertension (HT) and diabetes mellitus (DM).

Although metformin hydrochloride (MHCl)- and glyburide (GLB)-containing conventional tablets are available in the market and used to treat diabetes, orally disintegrating tablets (ODTs) containing the combination of these drugs are not commercially available. Therefore, the aim of this study was to prepare ODTs containing MHCl and GLB by direct-compression (DC-ODTs) and freeze-drying (FD-ODTs) methods.

LEV and CBZ, which are antiepileptic drugs, are used in the treatment of epilepsy. Nano-sized formulations are prepared to use for different purposes such as to improve the solubility/the physicochemical properties and bioavailability of drugs, to decrease their doses and frequency of administration, and to reduce side effects of drugs.

In the present study we investigated whether the indications of patients who underwent surgery over a period of 25 years have accommodated to these changes.
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 1173 patients who underwent surgery in our clinic from 1994 through 2007, and 954 patients who underwent surgery from 2008 through 2018.

Aim: This study aimed to determine oxidant status and left ventricular mass index (LVMI) and their relationship with mild hyperbilirubinemia in patients with Gilbert syndrome (GS).
Background: Gilbert syndrome (GS) presents with mild indirect hyperbilirubinemia, normal liver function tests, and normal hepatic histology.
Methods: A total of 84 patients, including 41 (48.
The use of certain types of plants to determine the accumulation of HMs (heavy metals) has yielded quite consistent results in the research fields. Many researches have focused on particular types of HMs due to their common presence in the air (Pb, Cd, Ni, Co, Cr to name a few). However, it is equally as important to shed light on other types of HMs and the scale of their existence in our atmosphere, hence this paper.

Advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP) are a family of oxidized protein products, and oxidative stress has a substantial role in the morbidity of OSAS.
Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate the serum levels of advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP) as a marker of oxidative stress, and their correlation with polysomnographic parameters in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disorder affecting the skin, nails, and joints. Its lifetime prevelance has been estimated to be at 1% to 3%. This study was designed to examine the association between serum pentraxin 3 (PTX3) and cardiovascular function in psoriatic children.

The heavy metals included in the component of air pollution occupy an important position in human health since they could remain intact in nature for a long time and build bioaccumulation, and also some of them are toxic or carcinogenic even at some low concentrations. Even the heavy metals functioning as micronutrient element could create toxic effect for human beings at the high concentrations.

Although the utilization of noncovalent bonding interactions, leading to the generation of excimer/exciplex PL, has been investigated extensively, precise control of the aggregates and their persistence at very low concentrations remains a rare phenomenon. In the search for a fresh approach, we sought to obtain exciplex PL from permanent structures by incorporating anthracene moieties into pyridinium-containing mechanically interlocked molecules.

Resting-state brain networks represent the intrinsic state of the brain during the majority of cognitive and sensorimotor tasks. However, no study has yet presented concise predictors of task-induced vigilance variability from spectro-spatial features of the resting-state electroencephalograms (EEG). In this study, ten healthy volunteers have participated in fixed-sequence, varying-duration sessions of sustained attention to response task (SART) for over 100 minutes.
