Background: It is important to identify patients that are at high risk following primary percutaneous coronary intervention (P-PCI) for the treatment of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) is the most important parameter obtained from transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) for risk stratification. The authors evaluated the value of pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) and left atrial volume index (LAVI) for the prediction of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients with STEMI that underwent P‑PCI.

The Effect of Tranexamic Acid and Tourniquet Use on Tibial Cement Penetration in Primary Total Knee Arthroplasties.

Background: In this study, our aim was to compare the effects of tourniquet and tranexamic acid (TXA) use on tibial cement penetration in primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) using radiograph images. In addition, we also aimed at investigating the effects of age, gender, body mass index (BMI), and bone mineral density on cement penetration.

Methods: One hundred seventy patients who underwent TKA for primary osteoarthritis were retrospectively evaluated.

Introduction And Purpose: The Urinary Neutrophil-gelatinase associated lipocalin (NGAL) levels which are a biomarker for early diagnosis of kidney damage that may develop in patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) were investigated in the study.

Material And Methods: The 30 patients diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome between the ages of 13 and 18 who applied to the Yuzuncu Yil University General Children's Outpatient Clinic were included in the PCOS group and 30 healthy adolescents without any known acute or chronic illness and drug use were included in the control group.

Changes in EEG complexity with neurofeedback and multi-sensory learning in children with dyslexia: A multiscale entropy analysis.

Multiscale entropy analysis (MSE) is a novel entropy-based approach for measuring dynamical complexity in physiological systems over a range of temporal scales. MSE has been successfully applied in the literature when measuring autism traits, Alzheimer's, and schizophrenia. However, until now, there has been no research on MSE applied to children with dyslexia.

Comparison of female sexual function and sexual function of their partners between groups of pregnant and non-pregnant women.

Objectives: To compare the female sexual function index and sexual function of their partners between groups of pregnant and non-pregnant Turkish women.

Material And Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of 321 women, including 252 healthy pregnant and 69 healthy nonpregnant women. Assessment of female sexual function index (FSFI), ARIZONA scores of their partners were compared in relation to some of the sociodemographic characteristics and pregnancy trimesters.

A new risk model for the evaluation of the thromboembolic milieu in patients with atrial fibrillation: the PALSE score.

Background: The evaluation of thromboembolic risk is the cornerstone of atrial fibrillation (AF) management. Thromboembolic risk is associated with the presence of left atrial (LA) thrombus and spontaneous echo contrast (SEC), namely the thromboembolic milieu.

Aims: We aimed to assess the predictors of the thromboembolic milieu in terms of LA thrombus and/ or SEC in patients with paroxysmal AF undergoing electrical cardioversion or catheter ablation, and to develop an effective risk model for detecting the thromboembolic milieu.

Although metformin hydrochloride (MHCl)- and glyburide (GLB)-containing conventional tablets are available in the market and used to treat diabetes, orally disintegrating tablets (ODTs) containing the combination of these drugs are not commercially available. The aim of this study was to develop the PLGA nanoparticles (NPs) containing carbamazepine (CBZ) and levetiracetam (LEV) combination (CBZ + LEV) for the treatment of epilepsy and to characterize the prepared NPs. LEV and CBZ, which are antiepileptic drugs, are used in the treatment of epilepsy. Nano-sized formulations are prepared to use for different purposes such as to improve the solubility/the physicochemical properties and bioavailability of drugs, to decrease their doses and frequency of administration, and to reduce side effects of drugs.

Does the Change in the Indications of Endoscopic Sinonasal Surgery Continue? Data between 1994-2018.

Objective: Endoscopic sinonasal surgery (ESS) has changing over the years in parallel with the developments in endoscopy devices, video-imaging techniques, and surgical instruments. In the present study we investigated whether the indications of patients who underwent surgery over a period of 25 years have accommodated to these changes.

Prediction of Reaction Time and Vigilance Variability From Spatio-Spectral Features of Resting-State EEG in a Long Sustained Attention Task.

Resting-state brain networks represent the intrinsic state of the brain during the majority of cognitive and sensorimotor tasks. However, no study has yet presented concise predictors of task-induced vigilance variability from spectro-spatial features of the resting-state electroencephalograms (EEG). In this study, ten healthy volunteers have participated in fixed-sequence, varying-duration sessions of sustained attention to response task (SART) for over 100 minutes.
