Restorative dentistry often uses ceramic laminate veneers for aesthetic anterior teeth restorations due to their natural appearance and minimal invasiveness. However, the understanding of their clinical performance and how ceramic microstructure and processing affect longevity is limited. This study aimed to address this gap by determining the mechanical behavior, fracture load, and failure modes of CAD-CAM processed laminate veneers made of either lithium-disilicate-based glass ceramic (IPS e.

Introduction/objectives: Enthesitis is a cardinal feature of spondylarthritis (SpA), and the pelvis is a common site of enthesitis. This study aimed to establish the association between pelvic enthesis involvement on pelvic X-ray and SpA diagnosis through a radiographic enthesis index (REI) and to assess the reliability and accuracy of this REI.
Materials And Methods: The participants were SpA patients and a control group composed of patients with chronic lumbar pain without SpA.
Objectives: The objective was to discuss the research on zirconia published in the past 15 years to help the dental materials community understand the key properties of the types of zirconia and their clinical applications.
Methods: A literature search was performed in May/2023 using Web of Science Core Collection with the term "dental zirconia". The search returned 5102 articles, which were categorized into 31 groups according to the research topic.

The latest social VR technologies have enabled users to attend traditional media and arts performances together while being geographically removed, making such experiences accessible despite budget, distance, and other restrictions. In this work, we aim at improving the way remote performances are shared by designing and evaluating a VR theatre lobby which serves as a space for users to gather, interact, and relive the common experience of watching a virtual opera. We conducted an initial test with experts ($\mathrm{N}=10$, i.

Methods: A total of 145 Y-TZP specimens were produced in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. These specimens, measuring 4.
Background: Since color measurements are relative, the discrepancy among different instruments is alarmingly high. This multicenter study evaluated the effectiveness of instrument calibration and inter-instrument harmonization of different spectrophotometers with the same optical geometry using tooth-colored, translucent dental materials.
Methods: The coordinating center (CC) spectrophotometer was calibrated using the NPL Ceram Series II set.
Affective computing has experienced substantial advancements in recognizing emotions through image and facial expression analysis. However, the incorporation of physiological data remains constrained. Emotion recognition with physiological data shows promising results in controlled experiments but lacks generalization to real-world settings.

Measuring interoception ('perceiving internal bodily states') has diagnostic and wellbeing implications. Since heartbeats are distinct and frequent, various methods aim at measuring cardiac interoceptive accuracy (CIAcc). However, the role of exteroceptive modalities for representing heart rate (HR) across screen-based and Virtual Reality (VR) environments remains unclear.

The rapid evolution of legal requirements applicable to data use, however, has the potential to outstrip the capabilities of networks of biomedical data users to respond to the shifting norms. It can also delegitimate established institutional bodies that are responsible for assessing and authorising the downstream use of data, including research ethics committees and institutional data custodians.

After the characterization of the MWCNT-SiO powder, specimens were obtained from the synthesized material Y-TZP/MWCNT-SiO by uniaxial pressing for a second characterization and later comparison of its optical and mechanical properties with the conventional Y-TZP. The MWCNT-SiO was presented in bundles of carbon nanotubes coated by silica (mean length: 5.

Thirty-two extracted mandibular third molars were selected and class II MOD cavities involving 2/3 of the intercuspal width and 4 mm depth were prepared. Teeth were divided into four groups based on resin composite type and insertion technique (n=8): (1) CT, unprepared teeth (control); (2) CV, conventional resin composite (Tetric N-Ceram, Ivoclar Vivadent) with incremental technique; (3) R-BF, regular bulk-fill resin composite (Tetric N-Ceram Bulk Fill, Ivoclar Vivadent) with a single increment; and (4) F-BF, flowable bulk-fill resin composite (Tetric N-Flow Bulk Fill, Ivoclar Vivadent) with a single increment, except for a 1-mm-thick layer at the occlusal surface, restored with conventional resin composite (Tetric N-Ceram).

Changes in dental education, especially involving the adoption of integrative health models in professional development, are considered essential for reducing this gap. We aimed to show a dental curriculum focused on special care as a tool for medicine-dentistry integration.

The clinical indication was emphasized on basis of the material's microstructure and composition. Studies of ceramic characterization were also discussed, as they impact the clinical indication and serve as a parameter for the development of new materials.

Materials And Methods: Electronic and manual searches were performed for randomized clinical trials, prospective clinical trials, and prospective cohort studies that reported the technical failure rates of zirconia restorations. The Cochrane Collaboration risk-of-bias tool and Newcastle-Ottawa scale were used to assess the quality of the studies.
Unlabelled: Social VR enables people to interact over distance with others in real-time. It allows remote people, typically represented as avatars, to communicate and perform activities together in a shared virtual environment, extending the capabilities of traditional social platforms like Facebook and Netflix. This paper explores the benefits and drawbacks provided by a lightweight and low-cost Social VR platform (), in which users are captured by several cameras and reconstructed in real-time.

Irradiance was measured with a curing radiometer, and curing depth was evaluated according to the methods described by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 4049). Twelve experimental conditions were investigated in a 3 × 4 factorial design (n = 5 specimens per condition): no PVC film at the tip of the device, fitted PVC film, or misfit PVC film; and no OBG or a 1-, 2-, or 3-mm-thick layer of OBG.
