Background: A pyogenic granuloma (PG) represents a swiftly proliferating benign vascular tumor situated in the skin or subcutaneous tissue, commonly observed as a reactive lesion in the orofacial area. This research intended to scrutinize the clinicopathological characteristics of pyogenic granulomas in the oral and maxillofacial region.
Methods: Seventy two participants, comprising 24 men (33%) and 48 women (67%), underwent surgical ablation of pyogenic granuloma in oral and maxillofacial regions utilizing 940nm and 980nm diode lasers.
Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is widely utilized in endodontics for its effective antimicrobial properties and ability to dissolve necrotic tissues. However, its use is not devoid of risks, including potential severe tissue damage and chemical burns. This systematic review evaluates the documented risks of using NaOCl in endodontic treatments.

The aim of this systematic review is to comparatively evaluate the Triphala and chlorhexidine mouthwashes efficacies in decreasing plaque formation and gingivitis in children. With a priori-set inclusion and exclusion criteria's and relevant MeSH terms, the PubMed, Cochrane and Ovid SP were scrutinized from the year 1980 to April 2023 for prospective articles. Outcomes evaluated were plaque formation and gingivitis through Plaque index and Gingival index.

After an accurate evaluation with cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), the subgingival lesion was diagnosed as a supracrestal external cervical resorption (ECR), with a circumferential spread ⩽90°, confined to dentine without pulp involvement. The lesion was treated with the following sequence: (1) a full flap accessed the ECR, (2) the granulomatous tissue was removed from the root area, (3) the cavity was refreshed and filled with a well-refined and polished resin composite, (4) the flap was sutured at the cemento-enamel junction.

Methods: A total of 40 patients who previously underwent orthognathic surgery were included in this study, 20 treated with the orthodontic first approach and 20 treated with the Surgery First Approach. The impact of orthognathic surgery on patients' quality of life was recorded through the administration of the OHIP-14 test, FACE-Q test scale and FACE-Q test.
Background: Self-assessment (SA) is an interactive course that endorses the accomplishment of learning objectives through learners' identification of insufficiencies in their didactic knowledge and pre-clinical skills. This study was planned to determine whether there is any improvement in the faculty assessment (FA) score following the implementation of SA in the Pre-clinical Conservative Dentistry Course.
Methods: Fifty-four first-semester dental students were given an introductory lecture followed by a demonstration for Class I Cavity Preparation in typhodont mandibular first molar.
Digital technologies enable the accurate replication of occlusion, which is pivotal for stability in maximum intercuspation and dynamic occlusion. CAD softwares generates standardized occlusal morphologies requiring significant adjustments. The consideration of individual mandibular movements during restoration leads to better functional integration.

A 69-year-old woman wanted fixed rehabilitation to replace her removable complete dentures. A cone-beam computed tomography showed significant bone resorption in both the maxillary and mandibular regions.

This study aimed to investigate the impact of RME on the soft tissues of the orofacial region in pediatric patients. The study included two groups: an experimental group comprising 30 patients (16 females and 14 males) with maxillary skeletal transverse deficiency who required rapid maxillary expansion (RME), and a control group consisting of patients (10 females and 10 males) who did not require RME or orthodontic treatment.

Among the several important connections, the convergence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), dyslipidemia, chronic periodontitis, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) is a remarkable example. These components collectively contribute to a network of interactions that extends beyond their domains, underscoring the intricate nature of human health.

Background: Clear aligner therapy has gained popularity as a minimally invasive orthodontic treatment option. However, its impact on the masticatory musculature and the stomatognathic system is an area of growing interest, as it involves the adjustment of occlusion and tooth movement. This systematic review aims to comprehensively assess and synthesise existing evidence regarding the influence of clear aligner therapy on the masticatory musculature and the stomatognathic system.

Objective: This preliminary screening study aims to investigate the potential of sericin and fibroin as reinforcing agents in the PMMA denture base material.
Methods: The flexural and impact strengths of PMMA incorporated with 0.
Aim: To compare and evaluate the sealing ability of four different commercially available sealers to provide seal against the dye penetration test using a stereomicroscope-an in-vitro study.
Material/method: 80 extracted single rooted mandibular premolar with single canal were used in this study. The samples were divided in 4 groups (20 in each) based on sealer.
Unlabelled: As well known success in orthodontics is related to a correct diagnosis and to a carefull treatment planning. Our study aims to provide clinician with a reproducible and precise method, for orthodontic indirect bonding, thanks to CBCT images and due to a CAD-CAM process.
Methods: A case of an orthodontic treatment plan, of a female patient, 37 years old, was selected.

Background: Periapical diseases are common dental conditions that require non-surgical endodontic intervention (NEI) for successful treatment. However, the impact of diabetes mellitus (DM) on the periapical healing (PH) outcome in diabetic patients remains somewhat unclear. This review aimed to evaluate the PH outcome following endodontic intervention among DM-afflicted individuals.

CA are composed of thermoplastic polyurethane not inert but subjected to changes due to heating and humidity, chewing forces, and prolonged exposure to enzymes in saliva in the oral cavity and external factors. Cigarette smoke (CS) and the aerosol produced by tobacco products with reduced health risks may be considered among the external factors affecting CA.

HAE is a rare disease, little known to physicians and dentists, but with an increased hospitalization rate over the years. HAE is due to a deficiency/dysfunction of the C1 esterase inhibitor, leading to increased vascular permeability.
