Removal of the buccal fat pad can be considered safe as long as there is a detailed analysis of anatomical landmarks. The objective of this study was to estimate the prevalence of intra- and postoperative complications resulting from buccal fat pad removal through a systematic review. The search strategy involved observational and/or interventional studies in humans that included at least one case of buccal fat pad removal with a description of the surgery, postoperative progress, and complications.

Disentangling the contributions from fluctuations in the nuclear overlap size (geometrical component) and other sources at a fixed size (intrinsic component) remains a challenge. This problem is addressed by measuring the mean, variance, and skewness of P([p_{T}]) in ^{208}Pb+^{208}Pb and ^{129}Xe+^{129}Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.

While extensive research has revealed strong associations between various risk factors and these diseases, latent confounding and limited causal discovery methods hinder understanding of their causal relationships, essential for mechanistic insights and developing effective prevention and intervention strategies.
Methods: We introduce anchorFCI, a novel adaptation of the conservative Really Fast Causal Inference (RFCI) algorithm, designed to enhance robustness and discovery power in causal learning by strategically selecting and integrating reliable anchor variables from a set of variables known not to be caused by the variables of interest.
Objectives: to characterize the sociodemographic and psychological aspects of university students who sought psychiatric care at a Student Support Center of a Federal University and to analyze associations between mental health issues and predisposing factors.
Methods: a retrospective analysis of 103 medical records was conducted. The statistical analysis consisted of two steps: a descriptive analysis and a predictive analysis using the Logistic Regression Model.
A search for the exclusive hadronic decays W^{±}→π^{±}γ, W^{±}→K^{±}γ, and W^{±}→ρ^{±}γ is performed using up to 140 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collisions recorded with the ATLAS detector at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV. If observed, these rare processes would provide a unique test bench for the quantum chromodynamics factorization formalism used to calculate cross sections at colliders. Additionally, at future colliders, these decays could offer a new way to measure the W boson mass through fully reconstructed decay products.

Five methods of PST extraction from mussel and oyster tissues were evaluated, including the AOAC-recommended method, which served as the reference. The main objective was to minimize the matrix effect of the extracts on the sensors' responses and ensure efficient toxin recovery.

Considering the increased risk of psychosocial challenges among adolescents with CC, this study aimed to enhance our understanding of the psychological and social factors that impact their quality of life. It also compared the psychological and social variables among (a) adolescents with and without CC and (b) adolescents with CC who are and who are not victims of bullying.

Thus, the investigation of biochemical markers in saliva is a tool that is beginning to be used in athletes within the physical training process. There is still no evidence on universal saliva collection and analysis protocols in soccer.

Topical corticosteroids represent the standard pharmacological treatment for mild-to-moderate disease, but their local and systemic adverse effects reinforce the need for treatment innovations. Here we developed lamellar phase-based formulations for topical delivery of a hybrid dexamethasone and hydrogen sulfide (HS) donor molecule (Dexa-TBZ), aiming to potentiate the effects of the glucocorticoid with HS.

However, the fabrication of devices with different compartments usually requires the use of toxic solvents, and/or the adaptation of technically demanding methods, including precision microfluidics and multistep processes. The spontaneous formation of multi-core capsules resulting from polyelectrolyte complexation at the interface of a prototypic all-aqueous two-phase system is described here.

At 95% confidence level (CL), the upper limit on the production rate is 2.9 times the standard model (SM) prediction, with an expected limit of 2.

The dataset used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector. Two fiducial regions with an enhanced presence of events featuring two longitudinally polarized bosons are defined.

In this cross-sectional study, we investigated colonization in pigs and farm workers, their resistance profile, and genetic background to estimate interspecies transmission potential within farms from Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil, between 2014 and 2019. We collected nasal swabs from 230 pigs and 27 workers from 16 and 10 farms, respectively.

The titanium samples were divided into four groups depending on the surface treatment: machining (MC), pink anodisation (PA), sandblasting (MC04) and a combination of the last two (MC04 + PA). Their physicochemical properties were analysed by SEM/EDX, Raman, contact angle measurements and profilometry.

Morphological, physiological, or genetic changes are examples of complex plant responses. In recent years, our understanding of the role of epigenetic regulation, which encompasses changes that do not alter the DNA sequence, as an adaptive mechanism in response to stressful conditions has advanced significantly.

Searches targeting pure-wino chargino pair production, pure-wino chargino-neutralino production, or Higgsino production decaying via standard model W, Z, or h bosons are combined to extend the mass reach to the produced supersymmetric particles by 30-100 GeV. The depth of the sensitivity of the original searches is also improved by the combinations, lowering the 95% C.

Consequently, there are a large number of experimental studies addressing different subjects, especially with the use of bacteria of the genus Pseudomonas; however, there is a lack of work that demonstrates the evaluation of this science produced to date. Therefore, this article discusses the production of biosurfactants by Pseudomonas with the aim of surveying and analyzing experimental articles on this topic.

This study aimed to characterize both global and local genome-wide genetic ancestries and to assess their relationship with self-reported skin color/race in an admixed population of Sao Paulo city. We analyzed 226,346 single-nucleotide polymorphisms from 841 individuals participating in the population-based ISA-Nutrition study.

Therefore, the integration of soft-tissue poses a challenge in implant-prosthetic procedures, prompting a focus on the interface between peri-implant soft-tissues and the transmucosal component. The aim of this study was to analyse the effects of sandblasted roughness levels on in vitro soft-tissue healing around dental implant abutments.
