Aim: Co-existing primary aldosteronism (PA) and autonomous cortisol secretion (ACS) has been recently recognized as a distinct entity. This study aimed to assess the incidence of ACS in patients with PA, and its impact on clinical and laboratory parameters.
Methods: Ninety-two patients diagnosed with PA were included.
Purpose: Adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D) are reported to be at higher risk for clinical eating disorders (ED) and other disordered eating behaviors (DEB) than their peers without diabetes. On the other hand, there is insufficient data on DEB in adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D). Our study aimed to investigate the prevalence of DEB in patients with T1D and T2D on intensive insulin therapy followed in our outpatient clinic.

The etiopathogenesis and clinical relevance of this neoplasm remain poorly understood. However, similar myelolipomatous alterations can also occur within adrenocortical adenomas.

Patients And Measurements: Clinical and laboratory findings of 81 patients with MACS were examined from retrospective records. SII of adenomas and internodular areas were evaluated by MRI.
Context: The impact of abnormal cortisol secretion on cognitive functions in patients with mild autonomous cortisol secretion (MACS) remains uncertain.
Objective: To assess cognitive functions, determine serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) concentration in patients with MACS, and investigate the association between cognitive subdomains and BDNF.
Methods: We prospectively recruited 84 participants-28 patients with MACS, 28 patients with nonfunctional adrenal adenoma (NFAA), and 28 control subjects matched for age, gender, body mass index (BMI), visceral adiposity, and educational level.
Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the quality of life and sex roles of women diagnosed with cancer and undergoing brachytherapy.
Methods: The research is a cross-sectional descriptive study. The sample of the study included 116 women over 35 years old who were diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer and underwent intracavitary brachytherapy at the Radiation Oncology Department of a university hospital.
Purpose: The liver is known to be protected from steatosis under the influence of high GH/IGF-1. Cytokeratin 18 (CK18) and insulin-like growth factor binding protein 7 (IGFBP7) increase in liver steatosis and fibrosis. The aim of this study was to use quantitative ultrasound techniques and biochemical markers to assess liver steatosis and liver fibrosis in newly diagnosed acromegaly.

The contribution of adrenal volumetric assessment to PA subtyping was also investigated.
Methods: Thirty-five patients with adequate cannulation in adrenal venous sampling (AVS) were included.

, a leading multi-resistant nosocomial pathogen, is also the most frequently retrieved species from persistently infected dental root canals, suggesting that the oral cavity is a possible reservoir for resistant strains. However, antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) for oral enterococci remains scarce. Here, we examined the AST profiles of 37 strains, including thirty-four endodontic isolates, two vanA-type vancomycin-resistant isolates, and the reference strain ATCC-29212.

The primary goal of this study is to assess the sonoelastographic features of forearm muscles in patients with acromegaly.
Method: Forty-five patients with acromegaly and 45 healthy controls similar in terms of gender, age, and body mass index (BMI) were included in a single-center, multidisciplinary, cross-sectional study.
Aim: To determine the impact of classical music on the anxiety and pain perception of patients who underwent thyroid fine-needle aspiration biopsy (TFNAB) for the first time.
Methods: In a prospective randomized controlled design, TFNAB patients were randomized into the intervention and control groups. The State Anxiety Inventory (SAI) before and after the procedure and the visual analog scale (VAS) after procedure were used for measuring anxiety and pain.
Rationale And Objectives: To compare the efficacy of two thermal ablation techniques (radiofrequency vs microwave ablation) in the treatment of benign thyroid nodules.
Materials And Methods: A total of 80 patients with 80 nodules underwent thermal ablation of thyroid nodules with either radiofrequency ablation (RFA) (23 females and 14 males; mean age 41 ± 9years) or microwave ablation (MWA) (28 females and 15 males; mean age 45 ± 11years). Ultrasound assessments were made at the 1st, 3rd, 6th, and 12th months after the ablation procedure.
ABSRTACTThis study aims to investigate the life experiences of refugee children and examine the symbolic representations of these experiences in their drawings. In this study, the phenomenological research design, which is a qualitative research approach, was adopted. The study was carried out with 28 refugee children.

Methodology A total of 75 outpatients (55 females and 20 males) between the ages of 30 and 65 years were included in the study. There were 25 healthy individuals, 25 individuals with prediabetes, and 25 individuals with diabetes.

Aim: This study aims to explore the opinions of male nursing students on violence against women in Turkey.
Introduction: The prevalence of violence against women in the world is increasing every passing day. Although women try to deal with the changes their lives bring along, they are faced with physical, sexual, psychological, and economic violence for various reasons at the same time.
Fear of childbirth affects their labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. For this reason, it is important to examine all aspects of fear of childbirth, which has a multifactorial etiology. The purpose of this study is to determine whether gender roles and personality traits predict fear of childbirth among pregnant Turkish women.

Aim: The study was conducted descriptively to determine the social media addiction, cyberbullying (CB) and cyber victimization (CV) of health sciences faculty students.
Method: 518 students who volunteered to participate in the study from among the students studying in the faculty of health sciences. The personal information form prepared by the researcher, the Social Media Addiction Scale (SMAS), and the Cyber Victim and Bullying Scale (CVBS) were used to collect the data.
Purpose: We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of speckle tracking carotid strain (STCS) technique, which enables measurement of arterial stiffness and strain parameters, in the detection of early atherosclerotic findings in type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM).
Methods: We prospectively enrolled 30 T1DM patients and 30 age- and sex-matched control participants with no history of cardiovascular disease. All study population underwent carotid ultrasonography.
Background: Pregnancy and lactation associated osteoporosis (PLO) is a rare condition that may present with fragility fractures occurring for the first time in pregnancy or postpartum period while breastfeeding. Here, we report a rare case of PLO in the 3rd pregnancy treated with teriparatide.
Case Report: A 35-year-old woman who presented with back pain (visual analogue scale; VAS = 10/10) two months after her third delivery.
Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of attenuation measurement function (ATT), a newly developed quantitative ultrasonography(US) method based on measurement of the attenuation coefficient, using unenhanced computerized tomography(CT) attenuation values as a reference standard, for the detection and measurement of hepatosteatosis.
Material And Methods: A total of 98 patients were analyzed. The diagnostic ability of ATT was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, and the correlation between liver attenuation index (LAI), the liver-to-spleen attenuation ratio (CT), liver attenuation value (CT), and ATT was determined.
Objective: Our aim was to present our experiences related to performing neck surgery using the guided intraoperative scintigraphic tumor targeting (GOSTT) procedure for patients who had locally recurrent or persistent differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) and who had undergone previous thyroid surgery.
Subjects And Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 11 patients who had locally recurrent or persistent DTC, who had undergone previous surgery, and for whom reoperation was planned for metastatic cervical lymph nodes (LNs). We performed the neck surgery using the GOSTT procedure on all patients and at a single academic institution.
