Introduction: Although the effect of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell exosomes (ADSC-exos) on wound healing with different doses are shown in various studies, efficient and sufficient doses of ADSC-exos are still unknown. The study aimed to determine the optimal dose of ADSC-exos in wound healing.

Methods: The 45 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups, with seven animals in each.

Right atrial thrombus is a severe complication of central venous catheterization (CVC). Concomitant pulmonary embolism may aggravate the clinical picture by causing or increasing shortness of breath and decreasing effort capacity, palpitations, and tricuspid valve regurgitation. A 32-year-old female patient with receiving chemotherapy was treated with alteplase thrombolysis because of the development of catheter-related right atrial thrombus and accompanying pulmonary embolism.

Flap loss resulting from venous insufficiency is a difficult issue, both with pedicled or free flaps. We examined the efficiency of low molecular weight heparin administration in various forms and dressing methods in venous insufficiency. Forty-five Sprague Dawley rats were included and inferior epigastric artery perforated island flaps were obtained from the abdominal skin of the animals.

Background: Reduction mammoplasty can be successful but surgical scars may continue to be a most undesirable and unavoidable outcome. Various medical and non-invasive methods are available to minimize scar formation but as yet no methods have been discovered to eliminate them. We hypothesize that immediate fat and nanofat-enriched fat graft transfer may improve the scar quality and optimize results.

Description The COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause an unprecedented level of disruption across every part of the globe. This disruption detrimentally affects the field of medical education; in particular, anatomical, surgical and clinical training, all which require hands-on experience. On the other hand, the pandemic not only brings new challenges in medical education but also opportunities for testing the validity of our old education paradigms and for developing the ability to embrace a rapid pace of change in better integrating new technologies in the medical curriculum.

We know that new generation left ventricular assist devices (LVAD), significantly reduce the mortality of patients in the treatment of advanced heart failure disease, compared to optimal medical therapy. Day by day, we treat more heart failure patients with LVADs. Patients that can be cured are on the rise.

Objective: To reconstruct the defect secondary to Fournier's gangrene, which is an infection localized in the perineum and the lower abdominal region, characterized by large tissue loss following debridement. A large tissue loss caused by Fournier's gangrene brings with repair problems. The primary goal is to achieve cosmetically and functionally successful results.

Pneumopericardium is a rare cause of cardiac tamponade, and it is an extremely rare complication of liver transplant. Here, we present a patient with cryptogenic liver cirrhosis who experienced cardiac tamponade secondary to a tension pneumopericardium during the postoperative course after liver transplant.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation therapy is being used increasingly in different areas. It has become an indispensable assistant to clinicians for hypoxic pulmonary disorders, cardiogenic shock, resuscitation, and during cardiac surgery. In this case report, we describe a patient who is bridged to successful cardiac retransplant under extracorporeal membrane oxygenation therapy support after extracorporeal membrane oxygenation therapy-assisted cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

As the number of implanted left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) used increases, the frequency of chronic complications encountered also increases. The pause of blood flow in the outflow graft is a rare, but fatal, complication. The aim of this article was to present the case of a patient in whom HeartWare outflow graft occlusion was removed by balloon angioplasty and to examine the treatment modalities of HeartWare outflow graft occlusions that have been percutaneously performed to date.

Introduction: Although multiple pedicle and skin excision techniques exist for gigantomastic breast reduction, no consensus exists as to which method is most effective in providing an aesthetically pleasing breast, especially in the long-term period. This study aimed to compare the aesthetic and surgical outcomes between inferior pedicle and superomedial pedicle reductions, which both use Wise pattern skin excision in gigantomastic patients.

Methods: A prospective study was planned, and the number of patients was determined before the beginning of the study.

Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) of abdominal aorta is a valuable treatment option in selected patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm. Renal artery occlusion is a serious complication after EVAR and may progress to permanent renal injury requiring hemodialysis. In this report, case of unexpected renal artery occlusion after EVAR treated with renal artery stenting in the late postoperative period is described.

Background: Aqua regia, a highly corrosive mixture of concentrated nitric acid and hydrochloric acid, is used to dissolve various metals such as gold and platinum that are not soluble in other types of acids. For the first time in the literature, we report the adverse effects that were observed following the utilization of this strong acid solution in the treatment of various skin lesions.

Methods: Between 2010 and 2013, 43 patients (55.

OBJECTIVE The closure of the skin defect in myelomeningocele (MMC) repair is an essential step that determines the quality of the surgical result. The success of surgical results is related to the decision to use the most suitable techniques, namely flaps or primary closure. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a decision-making guide to determine whether to use primary repair or a flap for the closure of skin defects that occur in MMC.

Introduction: Obesity and certain medical disorders make the reconstruction of skin defects challenging. Different kind of procedure can be used for these defect, besides, skin grafting is one of the most common and simplest procedure. Fat grafting and stem cells which are located in the adipose tissue have been commonly used in plastic surgery for regeneration and rejuvenation purposes.

Background: Alar cartilage malposition is a common anatomic variation in which the axis of the lateral crus lies cephalically and may be parallel to the cephalic septum. Malposition of the lateral crura may produce inward collapse of the alae that is observable on deep inspiration.

Objectives: The authors performed the alar rim flap technique to treat patients with alar malposition and assessed functional and aesthetic outcomes.

In our case study, the left ear of a 57-year-old male patient was subtotally amputated due to an iron-plate cutting accident. Only a 5-mm inferior skin pedicle connected the amputated ear to the lobule. The ear was reattached with primary suture without microsurgery.

Unlabelled: Cartilage grafts are the most commonly used grafts for structural and aesthetic purposes. This study aimed to compare the viability of diced cartilage grafts wrapped in fascia with diced cartilage grafts wrapped in perichondrium. Approximately 2 × 2 cm cartilage grafts were harvested from the ears of seven New Zealand rabbits, diced to approximately 1-mm cubes, and then wrapped in perichondrium harvested from the ears or muscle fascia harvested from the right rear leg of the same rabbits.

Varicose veins, associated with great saphenous vein (GSV) incompetence, are traditionally treated with conventional surgery. In recent years, minimally invasive alternatives to surgical treatment such as the endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) and radiofrequency (RF) ablation have been developed with promising results. Residual varicose veins following EVLA, regress untouched, or phlebectomy or foam sclerotherapy can be concomitantly performed.

End-stage heart failure is still associated with a decrease in both quality and prognosis of life and one- year survival of these patients is below 50%. Heart transplantation remains the final therapeutic option for the treatment of irreversible end-stage heart failure in all age groups with adequate success rates. Survival of patients who underwent heart transplantation has improved incrementally in recent years, with 86% survival in the first year and over 50% survival at 10 years.
