Objective: The aim of our study is therefore to define the diagnostic accuracy of breast elastosonography in the differential diagnosis of nodular breast neoformations to improve the characterization of the solid lesion and reduce the number of needle aspiration unnecessary for benign formations.

Material And Methods: A total of 88 patients were enrolled, who came to the Department with an ultrasound diagnosis of a breast lesion.

Background: The aim of the present work was to evaluate the prognostic significance in patients with T1 breast cancer of tissue expression of the two oncosuppressors phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) and non-metastatic clone 23 (NM23) as detected by immunohistochemistry.

Background: Our intention in this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a new open mesh hernia repair procedure, the "All in One Mesh Hernioplasty", for the treatment of primary inguinal hernias in adults.

Deep vein thrombosis of the lower limb secondary to lumbar discal hernia compression: a rarity? Review of the literature.

This case report is about a 70-years-old female patient, suffering from discal hernia, with compression of the iliac vein, that led to the formation of deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs. The angio-CT scan revealed the starting point of the L4- L5 compression where a voluminous discal hernia caused deep vein thrombosis, with the involvement the femoro-popliteal venous axis. Blood samples and PET-CT scans excluded other possible etiologic factors.

JCV-specific T-cells producing IFN-gamma are differently associated with PmL occurrence in HIV patients and liver transplant recipients.

Aim of this work was to investigate a possible correlation between the frequency of JCV-specific T-cells and PML occurrence in HIV-infected subjects and in liver transplant recipients. A significant decrease of JCV-specific T-cells was observed in HIV-PML subjects, highlighting a close relation between JCV-specific T-cell immune impairment and PML occurrence in HIV-subjects. Interestingly, liver-transplant recipients (LTR) showed a low frequency of JCV-specific T-cells, similar to HIV-PML subjects.
