Framingham coronary score in individuals with symptoms or diagnoses of mental disorders: A review and meta-analysis.

Patients with mental disorders have a higher coronary morbidity and mortality as compared to the general population. However, it remains unclear whether their coronary risk scores are higher than those of the general population. We reviewed studies and meta-analyze case-control studies about coronary risk scores in individuals with symptoms or diagnoses of mental disorders.

Telepsychiatry: what role in the care of the elderly?

Telemedicine has recently been developed in response to epidemiological, demographical and economical problems in the French Health care system. Telepsychiatry appears to be a suitable tool, but few studies have evaluated its applicability and acceptability when applied to the elderly. The use of such a tool is interesting because elderly people have many psychiatric disorders, but encounter many difficulties to access health care.
