Chronic pancreatitis (CP) is a complex inflammatory disorder with numerous associated genetic and environmental risk factors. The most distressing characteristic of CP is recalcitrant pain, often requiring surgical resection including total pancreatectomy with islet autotransplantation (TPIAT).
