A novel supramolecular photoactuator in the form of a thin film of centimetric size has been developed as an alternative to traditional liquid crystal elastomers (LCE) involving azobenzene (AZO) units or photochromic microcrystals. This thin film is produced through spin coating without the need for alignment or crosslinking. The photoactuator combines a photochromic dithienylethene (DTE) functionalized with ureidopyrimidinone (UPy) units, and a telechelic thermoplastic elastomer, also functionalized with UPy, allowing quadruple hydrogen bonding between the two components.

The stereoisomeric system of -2-phenylglycinamide (PGA) and --acetyl tryptophan (NAT) is significant in the application of chiral resolution because it has been shown that this system can be used for enantioseparation of PGA and/or NAT using a novel deracemization route of the conglomerate salt formed. However, it was also found that the conglomerate salt eventually converted into different crystal forms that limited the time available for the separation. The Ecuadorian white-fronted capuchin (Cebus aequatorialis) is classified as Critically Endangered (CR) on the IUCN Red List at both international and national levels in Ecuador, and the majority of detections have been recorded from direct observation. In this work, we report the occurrence of this species in a new location in the Coastal Region of Ecuador recorded by remote cameras.
