Cytokines are released in response to brain injury and inflammation. By binding to receptors, they can cause, exacerbate or inhibit cellular injury and repair. Results: NCU-G1 was found to be a highly conserved nuclear protein rich in proline with a molecular weight of approximately 44 kDa.
