Small-fibre neuropathy in leprosy the role of in vivo confocal microscopy: A cross-sectional study.

Background Leprosy (or Hansen's disease) continues to present considerable challenges regarding containment and early diagnosis. Leprosy is considered to be primarily a neural disease that first affects the sensory function of small fibres. Although the condition is well described in terms of clinical manifestations and histology, few studies have been undertaken to detect damage done to small-fibre sensory nerves.

Analysis of ocular surface and quality of life in patients with corneal and conjunctival tumors.

Purpose: To evaluate the impact of corneal and conjunctival tumors on the ocular surface and quality of life of patients before and after surgical treatment.

Methods: This prospective study conducted a preoperative and 30- and 90-day postoperative assessment of patients diagnosed with conjunctival and corneal tumors. Demographic data were collected preoperatively.

Cat Scratch Disease: Not a Benign Condition.

Purpose: Describe a case series of ocular Cat-scratch-disease (CSD) with vision-threatening findings and poor outcomes, indicating severity of disease.

Methods: Retrospective case series from the Uveitis Department of São Paulo Federal University from 2011 to 2015.

Results: In this period, six eyes of four patients had confirmed diagnosis of CSD.
