Disseminated Mycobacterium bovis Infection: A Rare Complication of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin Immunotherapy.

Intravesical instillation of bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) is a crucial adjunctive therapy in the treatment of bladder carcinoma. Its systemic complications are rare but include disseminated () infections, the diagnosis of which is a challenging task that requires keen clinical awareness. We report the case of an adult male treated with BCG who presented with fever, nonspecific constitutional symptoms, hepatic cytolysis, and cholestasis.

Duodenal angiolipoma: a rare tumor causing recurrent upper gastrointestinal bleeding.

Duodenal angiolipoma is a rare adipocytic tumor, with non-specific symptoms precluding an early diagnosis. We present a case of a 67-year-old female admitted due to upper gastrointestinal bleeding. The upper endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound evaluation showed a subepithelial lesion in the third portion of the duodenum.

Fetal Deaths in SARS-CoV-2-Infected Pregnant Women: A Portuguese Case Series.

Introduction: Stillbirth has been documented as an outcome of SARS-CoV-2 infection in pregnancy. Placental hypoperfusion and inflammation secondary to maternal immune response seem to play a role in the cascade of events that contribute to fetal death. The aim of our study is to report a perinatal outcome of SARS-CoV-2 infection in pregnancy adding information to the pool of data on COVID-19 pregnancy outcomes.

Radiation-induced angiosarcoma of the breast: A review.

Angiosarcoma is a rare, aggressive malignant vascular neoplasm with poor prognosis that has a predilection for skin and superficial soft tissue. It can arise spontaneously or in association with factors like chronic lymphedema or radiation therapy. Radiotherapy used to treat invasive breast tumors is a known risk factor for the development of the so-called radiation-induced angiosarcoma (RIAS), a condition that has been described in the literature with increasing frequency.
