Background And Aims: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a growing public health problem. The secondary stage in MASLD is steatohepatitis (MASH), the co-existence of steatosis and inflammation, a leading cause of progression to fibrosis and mortality. MASH resolution alone improves survival.

Plasma concentrations of buprenorphine administered via matrix-type transdermal patches applied at three different anatomical locations in healthy adult horses.

Background: Anatomical location-dependent differences in transdermal opioid penetration are well described in human patients. Although this has been investigated in horses with fentanyl, there is no literature available on location-dependent plasma buprenorphine concentrations when administered as a transdermal matrix-type patch.

Objective: This study aims to compare the plasma concentrations achieved from the matrix-type transdermal buprenorphine patches placed at different anatomical sites (metacarpus, gaskin, and ventral tail base) in healthy adult horses.

Age-related changes in vitamin D metabolism and vitamin D receptor expression in equine alveolar macrophages: A preliminary study.

The vitamin D receptor (VDR)-vitamin D axis modulates pulmonary immunity in people but its role in equine immunity is unknown. Bacterial pneumonia causes high morbidity/mortality in foals and alveolar macrophages (AMφ) are important for pulmonary defenses. Age-related variations in vitamin D-mediated function of AMφ might contribute to the foal's susceptibility to pneumonia.

Less than full-time training (LTFT), is this the new norm? A cross-sectional study using a UK-wide online survey to evaluate trainees' views and intentions for LTFT.

Objectives: Interest in less than full-time training (LTFT) is growing among doctors in training. LTFT applications have previously been limited to fulfilment of specific criteria such as childcare or health reasons, but Health Education for England (HEE) has recently completed a pilot into LTFT for a third category: lifestyle choice. Background: Trastuzumab emtansine is the current standard treatment for patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive metastatic breast cancer whose disease progresses after treatment with a combination of anti-HER2 antibodies and a taxane.

Methods: We conducted a phase 3, multicenter, open-label, randomized trial to compare the efficacy and safety of trastuzumab deruxtecan (a HER2 antibody-drug conjugate) with those of trastuzumab emtansine in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer previously treated with trastuzumab and a taxane. The primary end point was progression-free survival (as determined by blinded independent central review); secondary end points included overall survival, objective response, and safety.

An Exploratory Analysis of the Role of Adipose Characteristics in Fulltime Wheelchair Users' Pressure Injury History.

The goals of this study were 1) to identify the relationship between adipose (subcutaneous and intramuscular) characteristics and pressure injury (PrI) history in wheelchair users and 2) to identify subject characteristics, including biomechanical risk, that are related to adipose characteristics. The buttocks of 43 full-time wheelchair users with and without a history of pelvic PrIs were scanned in a seated posture in a FONAR UPRIGHT® MRI. Intramuscular adipose (the relative difference in intensity between adipose and gluteus maximus) and the subcutaneous adipose characteristics (the relative difference in intensity between subcutaneous adipose under and surrounding the ischium) were compared to PrI history and subject characteristics.

Transitioning into the workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic: Understanding the experiences of student diagnostic radiographers.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic, with associated pressures on healthcare services and workforce, had implications for final year Diagnostic Radiography students completing their training and transitioning into employment. The aim of this study was to explore their experience as novice practitioners starting work and integrating into the workforce during a time of national crisis.

Introduction: Mentorship/Preceptorship (M/P) has been utilised within the nursing profession since the early 1980's. Objective: The objective of this systematic review was to explore the incidence of lower limb musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries sustained by rugby union, rugby league, soccer, Australian Rules and Gaelic football players under 18 years. The review sought to identify the mechanisms and types of injury sustained and to compare between sports.

Design: This systematic review focused on the incidence of lower limb injury in adolescent team sports that involved running and kicking a ball.

Diagnostic difficulties in a patient with multiple sclerosis who presents with cranial nerve palsies: an unusual complication of dental work.

A woman in her 60s with multiple sclerosis (MS) presented with right-sided ptosis, right sixth nerve palsy, right facial paraesthesia and signs of sepsis. She had a recent diagnosis of a dental abscess. Investigations revealed a right submasseter abscess leading to bacterial meningitis () and a cavernous sinus thrombosis.
