Quality of life and work functionality in severe asthma patients: the impact of biological therapies.

Background: Severe asthma can cause poor health status, poor health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and an impaired functioning at work. However, to date, limited data are available on the impact of the biological therapies on such outcomes. Therefore, aim of the present study was to prospectively assess the clinical, quality of life and work functionality issues in severe asthma patients both at baseline and after 6 months of biological therapies and determine which individual, pathological and occupational factors can influence such parameters.

Welding Fume Exposure and Epigenetic Alterations: A Systematic Review.

Epigenetics are heritable changes in gene expression not coded in the DNA sequence, which stand at the interface between the genome, environmental exposure and development. From an occupational health perspective, epigenetic variants may link workplace exposures and health effects. Therefore, this review aimed to overview possible epigenetic effects induced by welding fumes on exposed workers and health implications.

Accuracy of Hysteroscopic Metroplasty With the Combination of Presurgical 3-Dimensional Ultrasonography and a Novel Graduated Intrauterine Palpator: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Objective: To assess whether the use of a novel graduated intrauterine palpator can improve the accuracy of hysteroscopic metroplasty, introducing objective intraoperative criteria.

Design: A prospective randomized study (Canadian Task Force I, evidence obtained from a properly design, randomized, controlled trial).
