Medical sharps in Portugal: a cross-sectional survey of disposal practices among the diabetic population.

Objective: We aim to determine the disposal site for biohazardous materials resulting from diabetes surveillance and therapy.

Design: Cross-sectional study.

Setting: Five Portuguese primary care facilities.
