Predictive factors for complete pathologic response in luminal breast cancer: impact of ki67 and HER2 low expression.

Background: Complete pathological response to neoadjuvant treatment (NAT) in breast cancer is associated with prolonged survival. Compared to other breast cancer immunophenotypes, luminal tumors are the least chemosensitive with low rates of pathological response within this molecular subtype. Thus, finding predictors of response in this subset remains challenging.

Assessing Rodent Attitudes: The Psychometric Properties of the SARod in a Chilean Context.

This study aimed to develop and validate the Scale of Attitudes towards Rodents (SARod) to measure public attitudes towards rodents in a Chilean community context. Utilizing an instrumental design, we gathered data from 497 participants using convenience sampling. The SARod, comprising 22 Likert-scale items, evaluates attitudes across four dimensions: Scientistic, Positivistic, Emotional Negativistic, and Cognitive and Behavioral Negativistic.

Ossifying Fibromyxoid Tumor of the Shoulder: A Case Report.

Ossifying fibromyxoid tumor (OFMT) is a rare, slow-growing, mesenchymal tumor with intermediate malignant potential, predominantly affecting middle-aged individuals. Histologically, it presents as a fibrous capsule or pseudocapsule, with a complete or incomplete lamellar bone shell surrounding oval/polygonal cells within a fibromyxoid matrix. Advances in immunohistochemistry have facilitated OFMT identification, with S100 protein expression and INI-1 loss being notable features.

A Rare Case of Invasive Malignant Melanoma Metastasis in the Vulvar Mucosa 11 Years After Diagnosis and Treatment.

Mucosal melanoma is rare and the occurrence of an invasive malignant melanoma metastasis 11 years post-initial diagnosis is equally uncommon. This is a case of a 66-year-old woman with a history of bilateral vulvar invasive melanoma, who presented with an enlarging inguinal mass with associated tenderness upon palpation. After a right inguinal excisional lymph node biopsy, the pathological findings determined the final diagnosis as metastatic melanoma.

Teaching Person-Centered Care and Interprofessional Collaboration through a Virtual Mental Health World Café: A Mixed Methods IPE Pilot Project.

The purpose of this convergent mixed methods interprofessional education (IPE) pilot project was to help health profession students gain valuable insight about the experiences of people living with mental illness, to help them have a better understanding of person-centered care and have greater knowledge about the importance of interprofessional collaboration. A developmental workgroup which consisted of mental health consumers, four interdisciplinary students, and our team developed and implemented a virtual Mental Health World Café IPE event. Twelve other students attended the World Café event.

Endocrine therapy has traditionally been the standard of care for ER-positive and HER-2-negative metastatic breast cancer.

A Case of Gallbladder Adenocarcinoma Presenting as Mirizzi Syndrome in a Non-Jaundiced Patient With Recent Weight Loss.

There are many different types of gallbladder diseases, mainly resulting from inflammation. The long-term presence of an insult to the gallbladder leads to chronic inflammation, which is a nidus for complications such as Mirizzi syndrome and gallbladder cancer, both of which can become mimics of one another. Preoperative diagnosis of either gallbladder cancer or Mirizzi syndrome is often difficult, leading to late diagnosis and complicating the patient's treatment course.

Supporting community health workers during the COVID-19 pandemic: A mixed methods pilot study.

Objective: To examine how the COVID-19 Project ECHO program may have influenced the mental health of community health workers (CHWs) from South Texas. The program was designed around case-based learning and mentorship to provide support to CHWs and help them gain expertise to provide services to their communities.

Lung ultrasound to predict pediatric intensive care admission in infants with bronchiolitis (LUSBRO study).

It is extremely difficult to stratify bronchiolitis and predict the need for admission to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). We aimed to evaluate the capacity of a new lung ultrasound score (LUSBRO) to predict the need for admission to the PICU compared to a clinical score. This was a prospective observational single-center study that includes infants < 6 month of age admitted to a hospital due to acute bronchiolitis.

Graphite to diamond transition induced by photoelectric absorption of ultraviolet photons.

The phase transition from graphite to diamond is an appealing object of study because of many fundamental and also, practical reasons. The out-of-plane distortions required for the transition are a good tool to understand the collective behaviour of layered materials (graphene, graphite) and the van der Waals forces. As today, two basic processes have been successfully tested to drive this transition: strong shocks and high energy femtolaser excitation.

Multiobjective control architecture to estimate optimal set points for user comfort and energy saving in buildings.

Temperature control in buildings is usually driven by energy conservation although the occupants' comfort is also important considering its impact on productivity and health. However, energy efficiency and comfort are opposing objectives and therefore this type of problem can be resolved by means of a multiobjective optimization approach. The simulations we carried out indicate that set points optimization has the potential to reduce energy consumption in the order of 10% while also providing a comfortable work environment for the occupants.

Impact of a phone app on nephrology referral.

Background: Various factors can lead to inadequate nephrology referral decisions being taken by clinicians, but a major cause is unawareness of guidelines, recommendations and indications, or of appropriate timing. Today, tools such as smartphone applications (Apps) can make this knowledge more accessible to non-nephrologist clinicians. Our study aim is to determine the effectiveness of a purpose-built app in this respect.
