Introduction: In childhood, growth hormone (GH) deficiency (GHD) diagnosis is based on auxological assessment and biochemical provocative tests, whose reliability remains disputed. Recently, several papers have been published on standardising the duration of some tests. The aim of our study was to analyse the possible length reduction of the L-DOPA provocative test.

Background: Craniopharyngioma (CP), although slow growing and histologically benign, has high morbidity, mostly related to hypothalamus-pituitary dysfunction and electrolyte imbalance. Increased risk of vascular complications has been described. However, data are still poor, especially in the paediatric population.

Bevacizumab-Irinotecan (BEVIRI) combination has been successfully attempted in children with recurrent LGGs, in most cases not previously irradiated. The efficacy of bevacizumab has also been described in radiation necrosis.

We present 19 patients diagnosed with anaplastic astrocytoma (AA) or glioblastoma (GBM) treated with concomitant and adjuvant 20-30 mg/m/dose of vinorelbine and 30 mg/kg/day valproic acid (VA) in combination to consolidated TMZ and focal RT after maximal surgery. We evaluated the feasibility of treating children diagnosed with HGG.

In this report, we screened serum from free-ranging eastern coyotes (Canis latrans; = 268), red foxes (Vulpes vulpes; = 63), and gray foxes (Urocyon cinereoargenteus; = 16) from Pennsylvania, USA, for antibodies (Abs) to CDV and CPV. This comprehensive screening was achieved using a commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)-based colorimetric assay.

Methods: Two hundred and seventy-eight consecutive NIU patients (417 eyes) evaluated between January 2016 and January 2017 were enrolled. Collected data were analysed in accordance with the primary anatomic site of inflammation, clinical course, and laterality.
Although many epidemiological studies defining child sexual abuse prevalence rates in many countries of the world are now available, Italy presents a lack of data regarding this specific issue. Only recently some attempts to define the epidemiology of this public health problem have been tried. Between 2003 and 2010, the Department of Public Health at University of Milan was in charge of one of the more important study of this kind in Italy, involving almost 3000 students aged 18 attending secondary schools in the City of Milan who filled out an anonymous questionnaire aiming at detecting their previous experiences of sexual victimization during childhood and adolescence.

In Italy over the last 5 years interest in evidence based literature is growing. This is demonstrated by the launch of an Italian edition of Clinical Evidence and by the growing number of guidelines and systematic reviews produced by Italian authors and institutions.

We evaluate respiratory drug dispensing data as health indicators for the effects of total suspended particles (TSP) air pollution in the city of Como (84,713 inhabitants).
Design: Weekly count of individual patients with respiratory drug dispensed (Cases) and weekly dispensed daily defined doses (DDD) of drugs were modelled with weekly air mean concentrations of TSP using a Poisson regression model adjusted for long-term trends, seasonal variations, calendar variations due to holidays, and weather.
Aim: Disordered eating behaviours can lead to clinically evident and serious eating disorders (ED). Aim of this paper is to determine their extent among adolescents and to evaluate the associated characteristics.
Methods: All students of a high school (age 14-18) have been asked to fill up the Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26) anonymously.
The study we present is aimed at evaluating the efficacy of a child sexual abuse prevention program that involved children attending 4th and 5th grade in Milan's (Italy) elementary schools. The project involved 53 classes (10 of 4th, 43 of 5th grade) during school year 2000-2001. Children filled a questionnaire before the beginning of the project and two months after the end; the questionnaire evaluates children's perception of risk and their self-efficacy skills in adopting protective strategies when involved in at risk situations.
